Who agrees with Jerry and is dead set on paying Aldon Smith?

AS current stats... since I know you love them stats.
Tackles - 29
Tackles for loss - 5
Assists - 15
Sacks- 5
INTs - 2
Aldon Smith has as many INTs as Diggs, that leads our secondary with 2.
Point being that hell ya I would at your price tag, draft focus needs to be on secondary overhaul.
Late edit,, Meant passes deflected not INTs

Jerry is super-stupid. No way I pay Alldone, period. If a guy wants a big payday he needs to produce at a high level for three years prior to asking, IMO.

ASmith doesn’t have 3 seasons.

he’s lost many of his prime earning seasons.

he will go with the highest bidder in March.

Well if he doesn’t AND they turned down trade offers than our front office is even dumber than I thought (and I think they are already REALLY dumb)

Heck yeah I’d sign this guy, he’s a great turnaround story and still has a lot of tread left

Simple question

If you're saying dead set I am against it. Id love to retain Aldon, but it depends on cost. I dont think anyone should be "dead set" without knowing the price tag.

I believe they will try but will be outbid by another team. The Cowboys are sold on Lawrence and Gregory as their starting EDGE players. Another team will likely step up and pay Aldon to be their starter.

Maybe for 4 mill for 2 years. He’s a bench rotation veteran at best.

If he's used as a pass rushing or 3rd down specialist I think he can be a major contributor. He was outstanding early in the year, but he's older and his body may not be able to sustain. If he's worked in appropriately he can still be special imo. I dont know where to begin paying someone like that though.

He started off great and hit a slump later. Makes sense, there wasn't any tape on him unless you go back 5 years. I think another offseason could be good. I'd offer something very team friendly and let him take it or leave it.

I wouldnt pay Aldon. I would rather pay randy gregory with bradlee anae getting more snaps. dorance armstrong can leave.

I rather try get a guy like Hendrickson in fa.

Young legs or not, he's also in his 30s. Rather not see him re-signed unless its heavily incentive based

It would have to be little to no cap hit if you have to cut him. They already have sunk costs in several places that they may have to off load early.

If he wants to pay to keep any player, I expect that to be more than he's worth. They're really challenged with this whole cap thing so does it really matter?

Yeah. Let's insult a guy who is grateful for the chance the team gave him.

'Nother garbage post, bro

How did I insult him? Hes a rotation piece. Who are you going to bench then? Gregory? lawrence? Cant pay him starter money. Love the guy and his story, but cant pay him starter money. Would be a mistake. Hes not that good anymore.

Unfortunately for guys like you, I get these things right much more often then not. I know many of you types dont like to hear the truth on some of these players.

I didnt know about the picks. However he is still a rotation piece. A very good one, but at his age, simply cant pay him starter money. What would you pay him?

Aldon Smith has done nothing since the first couple of weeks. That said, people with his physical build and athleticism are hard to find. I hope they don't overpay, but they should try to keep him.

I would keep him, but some 12 million dollar contract would be ridiculous. 4-5 million tops I would say.
