Who agrees with Jerry and is dead set on paying Aldon Smith?

He hasn't done anything to deserve big FA $$$....he had a nice first couple of games, had that continued I'd agree. No way we could afford to keep him. He's been average/kind of absent since. If the deal is right sure, let Jerry sign him but no way in hell I pay him a huge ridiculous contract. That would just be stupid.

It does matter. If Aldon agrees between $4 - $6 million per year on a 2-3 year deal, I say Jerry should sign him. Aldon has shown he still can be a contribution.

If used properly he can be a good player
We’ve used him too much this year
At the right price it’s a smart move
Gregory too
But you have to structure deals that are safe for the team
We’ve gave smith a second chance but there is risks that should be covered and even more so with Gregory

I think because he’s being ask to take way too many snaps
There is no big FA deal in his future but at the right price and used about half as much he can be an asset

To an issue that’s a bit more complex. He’s 34, could go back to saucing at any moment, 3 of his 5 sacks were created by pressure from Lawrence, has seemed gassed since week 4. So no, I don’t see him as as imperative resign. That said, I’m used to decisions I don’t agree with or think are dumb so I’m not gonna crap my pants if it happens!

Aldon Smith performed as capably as anyone could expect, considering the circumstances surrounding this year.
I'm reasonably sure that Jerry will compensate him fairly. I bear no resentment for that being the situation.

The point exciter was making and is correct is that Jones said he would like to resign Smith he didn't say or imply that he was dead set no mater what to resign Smith like the title of your thread implies. You're another one that takes something that was said and then injects your own thinking into what was actually said to completely change what was originally said.

How did I insult him? Hes a rotation piece. Who are you going to bench then? Gregory? lawrence? Cant pay him starter money. Love the guy and his story, but cant pay him starter money. Would be a mistake. Hes not that good anymore.

Unfortunately for guys like you, I get these things right much more often then not. I know many of you types dont like to hear the truth on some of these players.
