If Dak was still playing would we be 3-9?

...nope, I honestly think Dak would have us at least 7-5. There were a few games the defense played well to win them. Of course with Dak at the helm. Dalton is just a leg worth all of Dak.

But I suppose whatever was not right with the team, would eventually get exposed.

..thoughts? ..

We were going toe to toe with the best teams in the NFC with Dak at the helm and the defense at a record breaking all time worst in NFL history giving up 39 points per game.

With Dak breaking all time records and the defense playing marginally better this team wins most of the games since he got hurt. NO doubt we are at least 8-5 or 9-4 easily winning the NFC East.

But to be honest, that would have been fools gold as this defense needs much more talent to get the Cowboys to true contenders. And clowns like Zeke and Jaylon have been exposed. Which will hasten their exit from the team. A top 5 pick will be just what this teams needs. This rash of injuries to most of our good players will turn out to be a blessing.

History lends no credence to this.

True, I agree. With Dak putting up 37 per game like he was those first 4 weeks teams would be much more aggressive having to score more. And we can see quite plainly that the passing D is as bad as the run defense.

Better? Without question. Do we have a winning record? Tough to say. Washington, Pittsburgh, baltimore, Arizona all tough games that we lost without dak.

I’m just not sure he alone could overcome all those. Maybe we win the first Washington game, maybe Pittsburgh. Probably in first place in the division, but I still wouldn’t say we were a good team.

I don't see how we could've beat Washington either time with or without Dak.

We couldn't block Washington the 1st game and we couldn't defend them either game.

I wish he would've put up more points before we were getting hammered.

He had plenty of opportunities in 2019 to win us games with an offense that showed a pulse and couldn't do it.

How about the 2nd half of the Rams game this year?

Maybe.. Juuuuuuust maybe... All of those big beautiful stats came because we were down by so many points against trash pass defenses with a ton of time left in those games and not because we are the high flying Cowboys that are just awesome and win all the time because of how great our offense always is.

not much difference. We either be a game up or down. Deepening on how you look at it dak was either 1-3 or 2-3 before he went out (Who you give credit for the win in the game he got injured in.) So he either was on pace to have 1 win for ever 3 loses or 2 wins for ever 3 loses. If 1-3 is the pace then he would've been 3-9 and if 2-3 was the pace he would've been 4-8. People act like he had a huge lead before he got injured, but it was just a 1 point lead.

These hypothetical questions are what make me loath dak fans

I like how we have just thrown 2019 out the window...

So many of these what if he had a defense theories were answered then.

Dak goes as the team goes.

2016 Great team.. Great year. Rookie season.. Have to applaud him for it.

2017.. Still a Great team.. Zeke suspended.. Team goes straight down hill.

2018.. Horrible start to the year.. Amari Cooper saves the day.. Overall very solid season.

2019.. Underachievers.. The whole team... Dak puts up the majority of his stats on 3 football teams.. Giants, Washington, Dolphins.. All who picked top 5.

2020.. A watermelon kick from 0-4, Nothing in the 2nd half against the Rams, slow starts, timely turnovers by Dak, and big stats against horrible pass defenses when they were up a ton of points.

BTW... When is the last time we beat a team that is good with Dak?

We might have 1 in 2019 I can remember if you want to count the Eagles.. I thought they were terrible but I think they had a winning record.

2018 I know we beat a rebuilding Seattle bunch who was just Russell Wilson and his fat contract carrying a bunch of nobodies. Surely we beat another good team or 2.

We just don't beat good teams very often.

It's time to stop trying to recreate 2016 and just start over. We need a quick rebuild.

Its possible. But anyone that understands football can see clearly how great the offense works with Dak leading the offense and the focal point.

Did you happen to forget about things like Zeke fumbling, early in games?

Would you rather have a QB that can bring you back from any deficit or a guy like Dalton that doesnt have a chance? Wait.............you already answered that one.

As we now see, the Rams are one of the toughest D's in football. The mistake of trying to establish the run and blow Zeke up the middle has been hurting this team at the start of games. I have a feeling that Moore has figured that out.

Or maybe Dak is just a hell of a QB with lots of weapons and can really air it out.

It should be obvious to you that all the great offense in the world cant overcome this horrible defense. As you so correctly pointed out in your defense of Dalton, no QB can win with a defense like this.

Fortunately Dak is going to be here for a long time. And this D can only get better. I understand a guy like you panicking over the prospect of a top 5 pick bringing in defensive talent.

It's clear is it?

I saw an offense that struggled to do anything in most of those games until we were getting hammered.

I thought that was pretty clear.

We’ve never not been a respectable team with Dak at QB, no matter what trash he has around him or how terrible the defense is.

That’s how you know Dak’s a stud.
He did go 3 games without a TD a couple years ago. We would prob be 5-7 and vying for 26th place draft pock

was no guarantee Dak beats the Vikings. I don't see us winning more games than we have with Dak if that answers.

no not rally better yes but more like 7-9 at best..ill give dak 3-4 wins over what we had but that OL and defense and other mistakes made over the course of the year would have been hard to overcome..

he was 8-8 with basically a full roster in 2019 ended it like 3-5 and started 1-3 ..

basically a 6-10 2020 was coming due to injuries, we didnt just lose dak.

we would have 5 wins if Dak was playing. That is how bad this team is on D and with the coaching.

What you saw was Dak and the offense breaking all time NFL records and you are now scrambling to deal with that. LOL

The ONLY thing that slows down Dak is Zeke.
