Anyone Have Any Insight On Our Route Combos Under McCarthy?

One thing that was a downer about our passing game from the Linehan & Garrett era(s) was a lot of super simple and repetitive route combos. I’ll never forget Amari in his first few games on the team had already gotten to the point where he was changing routes with Dak, successfully at that.

A dulling cycle of stop routes and fades that impacted the efficiency of the pass game. Did this issue linger into 2019 with Moore? Has Mike McCarthy had any influence on route concepts into 2020? Moore always has some clever ones called but some that make you scratch your head as well. Sanjay Lal even supposedly had a say in it on third downs last year. Would love to get some information on how those have developed into this season.

*Also, has anyone else felt like we never have all 3 WR’s clicking in one game? Maybe it’s due to a lack of a QB1 or maybe it’s not supposed to happen as the Defense has a plus matchup on someone. But I have still yet to see all 3 guys going at once.

- Under Kellen Moore, We had the No.1 offense in 2019 in total yards and the 3rd best scoring avg per game (27 points) in the NFL. .and before Dak got injured- IR'ed , we were already off and running
ahead with the No.1 offense in the NFL. I actually admire MM for not trying to coming in, touching, overtake Kellen Moore from the offensive play calling.
In terms of the pass game with the WRs and TEs, Kellen has proven brilliant in that area, and with Dak at the wheel, I love his pass route designs, huddle pace and tempo, and pre-snap motion.
and he won't abandon the run when it comes to goal line.

- If I see a downer with MM to the offense, it's not using his influence as an HC and offensive mind to add suggestions and implement better involvement and design with the RBs in both
the run game as well as in the pass game. Under Moore the RB designs has been very simplistic, bland and predictable.
The moment Kellen shows you a play or two to think he's gonna turn the corner with the RBs, (ala Zeke quick screen for a TD pass near goal line) or a Pollard slotted over middle for a drag route vs Detroit in 2019 for a TD, he suddenly freezes up and goes right back to bland and questionable use of the RBs again.

- Also ..no more using Dak on QB designed runs … now it seems to have become " policy" with the Jones.
- Does Kellen keep the peddle to the metal when his team.. is on the Road ? Is he as equally aggressive as he is when he's at Home.

- Moore is a brilliant offensive mind and as young as he is, as novice as he is, he maybe better than McCarthy when It comes to the passing game.
But even as as the NFL's No.1 offense with Dak, Moore has room to grow and he can/should be even better, more well rounded and complete than what he is.

It's the bolded. KM had pretty defined roles for each of these guys - Amari doing shorter/possession stuff, Gallup down the field, and CeeDee on the intermediate and screen type work - and the offense is designed to just capitalize on what the defense doesn't want to focus on. All three going well can be very much reflected in just one guy having a big game.

First..Andy, you take the snap in shotgun.

Zeke you fake a block and drift out to the right flat. Once out there start break dancing and tie up the CB and strong safety.

Amari you head up field waving your hands and scream " Throw me the damned ball".

Shultz..don't do anything. Drop down and tie your shoelaces.

CeeDee..you are in the running for Rookie of the Year. Can you do a slant, spin and do a ballet move like a spin or a jump and draw the FS and MLBer?

And that leaves who?

Oh..Brown..we are activating you this week just for this play. I know you play defense but not this week. You go in motion and at the snap you run over to the sideline and take a piece of paper I am going to give you.

It will have the name of our #1 draft pick for 2021. It's Goldie Locks.

Take it to NFL HQ and give it to Goodell to announce on TV.

This will insure we lose again and help us win the draft next year.
