Patricia could be interesting. His style is pretty similar to what McCarthy has said in the past that he wants.

On a slightly related not, it's kinda crazy to think that Patrick Graham worked for McCarthy as LB coach and McCarthy hired Mike Nolan instead. Maybe Graham had his sights set on NYG, who knows?

I'd prefer not to have a DC over the age of 60.

Someone younger with fresh ideas. Rams and Colts got the guys I wanted.

Not that he has a great track record as DC, but Joe Barry is the LBs coach for the Rams and has experience with Marinelli's system as well.

  • Wade Phillips
  • Marvin Lewis
  • Lovie Smith

-Wade runs a 1 gap 3-4, we would not need a traditional 3-4 NT, but need outside linebackers.
-Marvin Lewis ran a very similar defense to Nolan's hybrid scheme when with the Raven, believe Nolan replaced him.
-Lovie Smith runs a variation of the Tampa Cover 2, similar defense to the one Marinelli ran.

Edwards and Greg Williams are two traditional 4-3 coordinators.

The question is, does the team go through the long rebuild to put together a hybrid defense/3-4 or go the faster route to stay in a 4-3 alignment? No matter what the base defense is, they can will still have many different rush packages.

Looking at MM Packer tenure, it appears, he'd like

So Marvin Lewis would be an easier transition??????

Jim Leonhard (Wisconsin)
Sneaky good call.
Brent Venables (Clemson)
Expensive but very good call.
Dave Aranda (Baylor)
Mel Tucker (Michigan State)
Won't be leaving their current positions anytime soon.
Ken Norton Jr
One of my favorite Cowboys players, but no thanks, has been, umm, not good in Seattle.

Gus Bradley would be my top choice but I'd think he'd take the Seattle DC job (once Norton is let go) over us.

Sleeper pick: Mike Rutenberg, 49ers, but I think he takes the DC job wherever Saleh goes.
