When you're 3-9 you look at the bigger picture and who you are playing. We could have leapfrogged Cincinnati today in the draft order. At 3-9, winning doesn't help us. Even in the best-case scenario, making the playoffs doesn't help us. Our team sucks and would get slaughtered in the playoffs. Now we are 4-9 and still in the last place in the worst division. We did have the 4th overall draft pick with a prospect of improving that by losing. Now we lost ground to about the 9th position. How do you not see that's much worse?
Et tu????

And when you’re 3-9 you’re looking for something you can build on going into next year. Winning instill confidence and helps create a winning atmosphere. Losing does just the opposite.

IM NOT A PLAYER. What us fans want doesn’t affect the players or coaches.
Well, I guess that's where we differ. I was a player and a coach. I just don't get how anyone would want to bend over and take a loss.

Lose a battle and try to win the war.

Disagree if you want, but the two sides of the issue are crystal clear. You either want to win even if it doesn’t help at all or you want the team to lose in hopes it helps the team in the long term.
Winning does help. Play a team sport and you’ll find out how much winning helps.

This team has been bending over all season. Let’s be real. Whether they want to or not.

I had to watch the ravens bend them
Over all game long last week.

Nah, doesn't work for me.
So do you feel better today that they beat a terrible 3-9 Bengals team whose QB was on a busted ankle and needed 2 unforced errors (only DLaw was a forced TO)?

If it’s a rivalry game for you with friends or family I get it, but what is there to brag about beating the Bengals?

Its simple. It is very unlikely they make the playoffs and they are absolutely not making any noise in the playoffs.

So if the team is not going to succeed this year, would it not be best to root for the thing that causes the best result in the future and regardless of the fact that nothing is a "sure thing" there is a statistical connection between high draft picks and successful players especially those in the top 5 going on to have all pro careers.

I’m not bending over at all. I’m a fan. Idk what you don’t understand about that. I’m
Not the one getting beat out there.

You caring that they beat the bengals today doesn’t make the defense any less
Of a downright embarrassment this season. That’s their problem.
Just enjoy your beating. No fight!!!!

I just don't get it. Why would anyone root for a loss???? Yeah, yeah, higher draft pick, but that's not a guarantee. How can anyone watch their team and hope that they lose????
Because we don’t want more of the same.

Because the only thing that’s important to me is the Boys winning another Super Bowl. Today doesn’t help.
