Because you’re rooting for a win in 2021.

Exactly, but not just a win in 2021, but to set up a foundation for winning in the future too by acquiring top talent not just in the first round but in the other six rounds too. Picking at the top of each round can make a difference. Teams are looking to move up not just in the first but in other rounds too. Deals can be made. What is hard to understand about that. Short sighted fans have no idea and only look at this year. Which has gone down the crapper already.

Lol, we all root for this team in our own way. If our ignorant owner/ so called GM was any good at his job and we hadn't been a perennial mediocre disappointment the last 25+ years maybe more of then fan base would be rabid about winning every game no matter the circumstances but well.......That ain't the case and won't be until Jerry and probably his spawn Stephen are gone

For all intents and purposes we are watching preseason games, except winning hurts the team. It’s not that hard to understand why winning these games doesn’t provide any joy, especially when they are against crappy teams. Maybe punking the Chiefs would be alright but it’s the Bengals with their best player injured.
This makes zero sense.
Rooting for a win doesnt matter who its against. Why? Because thats what fans do.

I respect your point of view, but in the end this is entertainment. We’re fans, not players. You can have your wishes but you shouldn’t denigrate other fans because they haven’t played organized football. We all want the team to be successful in the end.

They arent going anywhere. Youre better off rooting for another team.

I am all for losing to get a high pick order, but not while you still have a chance at the div title.
Just because you dont think dallas could win in playoffs doesnt mean they couldnt.
and they couldnt do much worse than the 2014,16 teams did, even back to 2007, dallas has either been 1 and out or they get a win in wc round and then
get beat next week.
It is still a playoff game and much better than nothing.

Remember all this talk after
The Vikings game. And how the cowboys winning could help them gain momentum.

just for the team to get their s*** pushed in two games in a row after.

I remember.
But darn it..we are the Cowboys.

We have 5 SB trophies..

all won in the 20th Century.

This is the 21st Century.

Wake up out there.

It makes perfect sense. It’s Ok to disagree with it, but acting as if it makes zero sense because you disagree with it just makes you an intolerant bigot. Not everyone has to have the same thought process on things.

I just don't get it. Why would anyone root for a loss???? Yeah, yeah, higher draft pick, but that's not a guarantee. How can anyone watch their team and hope that they lose????

Do like NBA top 5 losers do a lottery for top draft picks. That way no one tanks.

And when you’re 3-9 you’re looking for something you can build on going into next year. Winning instill confidence and helps create a winning atmosphere. Losing does just the opposite.
It doesn't work that way. There is no carryover from one season to the next. There is too much turnover, too much time in between seasons for it to work that way. Being Cincinnati today did nothing for the Cowboys but they did lose a few draft positions next year.

Sure there is carryover. Players talk about it all the time.
