Momentum from year to year doesn’t exist. When’s the last time the Cowboys had double digit wins in back to back years?
In 2015 they were terrible and followed it up by a 13-3 season. Then they missed the playoffs the following year.
Games in late December against fellow non playoff teams don’t mean anything. You’re literally only playing for draft position. Do people think the defense is magically the best in the league because they played well against 2 3rd string QBs the last two weeks?
If getting a fumble recovery when a player drops the ball after running into his own guy makes him a pro bowler to you, then I guess good for you.
I like plays like Donovan Wilson made that show instincts on the ball. You can root for individual improvement and development without thinking the final score is the be all end all in December when you’re out of it.
I am not saying I buy it, I'm saying Jimmy invented the concept around Dallas and definitely was the one who introduced it to JG.
Reality is getting better and playing better does matter. Teams have to learn to win. Playing better, finding answers at a couple positions and winning games actually matters.
It's not about momentum but improvement.
Jimmy wanted to win going into the playoffs.
He'd like to lose a game 2-3 weeks before so he could tear into the team them win a couple so he could build them up before the playoffs.
He had all sorts of mental to-dos because he was a Psychology major.
Tankers are lying to themselves and think they'll have this magic draft bounty.
It almost never works that way.
Realistically, Dallas would get maybe an extra 3rd in a trade down in R1 because they finished outside the top 3 players in a non-elite draft.
Maybe they end up with CB2 instead of CB1....
Losing guarantees nothing except that you are a loser.
I still remember the excitement around here when Bill Parcells got them to 8-8 because they finally shrugged off being a loser.
Bill Parcells darn sure wasn't tanking.
