I grew up in Jax, so I'm glad they get the #1 overall pick. With that said, the past is the best predictor of the future. Trevor is in no way a lock to be a great NFL QB. There's a ~30% chance he'll be a complete bust. If he doesn't meet expectations, Jax will be a middling team, at best.

Back to Dak: There's NOBODY we can trade for or select in the draft that would give Cowboy fans any hope of being better than if we keep Dak. Barring injury, he's our QB for the next decade.

The Eagles had 477 yards of offense yesterday, but the only thing that anyone is going to remember this time next year is that the Dallas Jerry's beat the Eagles. That's it. No one is going to care how many yards Jalen Hurts had or how many yards Andy Dalton had or how many rushing yards Zeke had. Just as no one really gives a damn if Dak Prescott threw for all those yards when most of that led to another loss.

Now except for the ONLY good game Dalton has had this season he also had 4 losses with passing totals of 203, 209, 215 yards which isn't going to win many games. While Prescott was still playing and moving the team the people felt that he would be able to bring them back for a win but the people never thought that with Dal;ton when they were losing. With Dalton the Cowboys lost games by 20 points, 22 points, 25 points and 17 points. Now unlike you who puts all the blame on Prescott for losses, Dalton has had a really bad defense for most of his games. Now on the other side of things and the last three wins that defense got turnovers and gave the Cowboys some really short fields to work with making it much easier for Dalton, turnovers that Prescott was getting.

Now if you like Dalton fine, but to think because of his only good game this year he's as good as Prescott is just foolishness.

first-round picks go to bad teams. he will not miraculously make a bad team better. So you will see a bunch of posts next year saying how's he's a bust. book it now. a late-round average quarterback that go to good teams and play well has more to do with the team around them. That's why average dak is starting to look average to below average is because he doesn't have the super offensive line around him to give him forever to go through his reads. he's slow on reads just like his scouting reports say.

Dak is a really good Qb, and should be paid in the 29-32 range. 35+ I want a Rodgers or a Mahomes type Qb

None of that changes that you're bragging up Dalton after a SINGLE good game against a bad team and still want to blame Prescott for all the losses the Cowboys had with him as QB and not accepting that there were other reasons why some of those losses WERE NOT Prescott's fault. I've already conceded that Dalton's losses the defense had a big part in the losses but also the last 3 wins the defense has gotten turnovers that gave Dalton and the Cowboys some really short fields to work with making it MANY times easier to score than when Prescott was still playing and starting most of his drives inside his own 10 or 20 yard line. I'm more than sure that if Prescott kept getting those turnovers where they stated in or close to the redzone that the Cowboys would have won those games to. He and the Cowboys were scoring 30 or more points and still losing because the defense gave up more points and Prescott was getting those gifts of starting in or near the redzone. BTW, I was a big Romo fan too.
