Damn.. I was kinda hoping Moore took the Boise job.. Not because he sucks or anything.. but just because i think McCarthy has a better feel for play calling in the NFL than Moore does. Moore pees down his leg in the red zone far too often for my tastes. His penchant for eschewing the obvious choices for what to do in that area of the feel and getting cute drives me nuts. Here's hoping after a year with him McCarthy will at least take on a more active role in making sure we're not running double reverse passes that lose 10 yards when the receiver is gun shy to throw the ball and gets tackled for a huge loss. The thing is he has shown creativity down there at time. The two point conversion where he had Zeke pitch it was masterful. Why the hell can' we run that down there at least once a game? Why is nearly every run in the red zone right up the gut where the defense has packed all 11 guys. Why do we bring in three tight ends down there when none of them is really any great shakes at blocking? Why do we motion the one receiver left on the field in tight so we make sure the corner covering him is able to get into the backfield too?

Still he stays.. so we have to hope he continues to get better in these areas... Otherwise this is going to be a frustrating next few years..

Question is now does Kellen Moore's extension have an impact on whether or not Dak gets signed. I have not been impressed with some of Kellen's play calling and the only hope now is that he'll learn and improve in the areas that he has shortcomings in.

Luckily for Moore your impressions don't have any impact on him whats so ever. All he has to do is to keep impressing McCarthy and Jones.

So because you don’t know what they were ranked that means they were good offenses? Your logic is ummm not good

I know those offenses were lethal when it mattered and not against teams picking top 5 in 19 and scrub pass defenses that we threw a ton against this year.

18 games without an opening drive TD sounds pretty incredible for such an uh mazing #1 offense.

I hate on him plenty, but its probably for the best he comes back, and we keep this offense in tact. We know what these guys are capable of and KM will continue to grow.

That was quick. Jerry took out his pocket book and scribbled some numbers Kellen couldn't refuse.

The writing was on the wall years ago. This should be a surprise to nobody. Kellen Moore is Garrett 2.0, and McCarthy is just a bridge to him. There is a reason why Moore gets repeated promotions for failing at everything he has attempted in the NFL. Only in Dallas.

Y’all need to chill on JJ...the JW Blue gonna solve the current GM issue in a couple years at most. The liver is a picky organ.
Welcome KM as future coach with open arms....like it or not.

Funny, I listen to Sirius satellite radio all the time and almost all of them speak very highly of Kellen more seems quite different than this group
That’s because we are all experts here, lol.

We all desire perfection.
This is so true and if the Cowboys coaches would just listen to this board we would break the 72 Dolphins record every year. They would have to make rules up due to our domination of this league.

It continues to surprise me how many posters here seem to know so little about football

The guy is talented. You want talented people in your organization

this is good news for the Cowboys

I think he’s a lot closer to Shanahan than Garrett. Moore just needs to work on the running game a little more and his offense will be very difficult to stop, IMO.
People need to remember that Kyle didn’t jump out of Mike’s Shanahan’s head a fully formed OC too. He went through his ups and downs in Houston although you could tell the potential was there.

I just don’t understand the reason for arguing against the offense being one of the best in the league. It’s a literally fact. That’s not a smart hill to die on but you do you

Another genius move by our loser GM. Just like Jerry was the only person in the NFL that knew Garrett was a great head coach, now Jerry is the only person in the NFL that knows KM is a budding offensive genius and future head coach. Thanks, Jerry. Great move for another 25 losing years.
Hes not a bad OC, and only going to get better

I don’t get the hate on this one.....he was due an extension here anyways if we wanted him back regardless of the boise job wanting him or not want him. If he underperforms on the job we fire his *** and tear up his contract- it’s not like this has salary cap implications.
He lost dak by week 4.

he deserved to come back after a year with a new coach and get another crack at it with the franchise qb and with mm and him going over a year of film to see what they liked and what they didn’t and how to adjust. With injuries he has us above average on offense at around 12 in efficiency.

can he be better? Sure. Can he be creative without injury or something forcing his hand? Sure. But overall he’s been pretty good and deserved to come back. Don’t really get all the griping.

Don't listen to the media....They have been exposed...finally. For years they have fed misinformation to Jerry and the fans. The last thing the media wants is to see us have success. And I'm sure there is some moles around here doing just that....spreading misinformation. This is a great deal for us...make no mistake.

As soon as Jerry saw Boise rumors, it became a competition for him because of his bloody insane ego. He just couldn't let someone else take him. Same thing will happen when he extends Stats Prescott and we'll be stuck in mediocre limbo for another 5-10 years. I won't live long enough to see this team win another SB with this bunch of razorback bogans in charge for the long haul.
that is what I was thinking too.
he did the same thing when JG interviewed for job with ravens and another team. Jerry gave him big raise and extension.
This is just a repeat of the JG adventure , at some point kellen will take over as HC and go for ten years or more.

kellen said they are building something special lol
yeah we saw some of that specialness last year and this year kellen.
