Did Dalton play himself into a starter contract?

lol blaming Dalton's bad first half in this game and his game ending INT on Dak. Funny how Dalton Supporters wanted to give Dalton the full credit for winning the first match up against the Giants when the Cowboys were winning when Dak went out. But, don't want to fault Dalton for this loss and for failing to get the Cowboys in the playoffs when he had a chance to do so in a bad division. As he took over in time enough to at least get 7 or 8 wins by now.
AND in a game the Cowboys NEVER had the lead. Somehow that is Dak's fault.
:lmao2:

Don't mind "those people", they are obviously blinded by hate.

My view on Dalton when he signed in the offseason: You are not going to find a much better QB to come in for a few games in the regular season if he is needed. But I do not want to see him in big games or the playoffs.

So ya, Dalton will be a great backup for some team out there. But I just don't believe any team would purposefully setup their roster for Dalton to be the starting QB all year.

It would take an injury, contract dispute, or starting in front of a rookie QB for him to start a season as QB1. But I don't think ANY team would pick him up with the intentions of starting all 16/17 games and/or playoffs.

JMHO

Exactly, if you're looking for a backup QB, then we have the right one for the job. But, to ask him to start and lead you deep into the playoffs, that won't happen.

The broken logic some people employed went something like this

a) Dak isn't elite, so he's a bum. (see also: how Romo, Danny White and Dandy Don were treated by Cowboys "fans")
b) Anybody can play better than a bum.
c) Andy Dalton is anybody, so he's not a bum and better than Dak.

Problem is reality disagrees. Dalton choked the game away on a JV level brain fart like he usually does in any game that matters.

I'm not gonna do a "I told you so" to you Dak haters because I know y'all sad right now. Fact is, Dalton did ok today. Not great...not bad. Some good and some bad. Nothing to be ashamed of. He's a backup in this league. A good backup too.
You're being nice. DALTON IS GARBAGE!

yep super stats was playing with the starting offense and still sucked. give him the 40k he deserves it. lmao

lol but some of you seem to think that Dalton has earned being the starter next season and getting paid whatever he would demand after taking over for Dak. Wasn't Dalton the anointed one who was suppose to be so much better than Dak and who was supposed to vastly improve the offense and overall team. Why couldn't be lead the Cowboys to at least 8 or 9 wins if this was the case?

Lmao. I can't believe people actually bought into Dalton because what he did the last 3 weeks. He is not a starter, at least not for this team. He is not a good starter.

And what did Dalton do today? Lost a game where his defense got him 2 turnovers and gave up 24. He's terrible. But hey, keep waving those pom poms for this scrub cornball.
behind 3rd string offensive line and practice players.

It's Cowboys fans like you who claimed that any QB could come in and play much better than Dak ever could. If Dalton was a vast improvement over Dak then why couldn't the Cowboys get into the playoffs with him in a bad NFC East division? Trying to go back to "Well we were losing with Dak" talking points. When it was the Anti-Dak crowd who insisted that Dak was the only problem with this team and that any QB could step in and vastly improve how good the team could be.
