Collins can't play again? Holy overreaction.

How does one play without cartilage in one’s hip? That is the rumor. I am not a doctor and do not know if cartilage grows back over time.

Hey Robin, go do some research and report back to me. - Respectfully, Batman.

This weak clip is all you got? Collins couldn’t even play the whole year and no one really knows why. Do you? Are the rumors true of no hip cartilage?

No cartilage means playing days are over unless you have some miracle microfracture surgery that is going to grow enough cartilage in a short span for a 300+ lb OL to allow a beating on the field for a year.

Not disagreeing with you because I dont know, but wouldn't someone have questioned his ability to come back when that was first reported? Seems strange that no one caught that if true.

Interesting.......coz you'd think this could mean Williams moves to swing but FO doesn't seem to view him as a tackle.

There's a reason 32 teams refuse to pay BB to be a scout. BB was no better a scout than most fans.

I would rather have Knight- Williams-Biadasz-McGovern-Martin with Steele as swing tackle.

Slide Martin out to OT. I don’t think Collins can play again and I would trade Smith for whatever I could get. Add another OL or two in the draft.

At this age and stage of his career, i'm far more for keeping Martin starting inside at OG, than thinking of moving him outside at OT.
The Steele situation and lack of depth made Martin move at RT a severe emergency necessity at the time. But I prefer less stress on Zack
and more options at OT than Steele - whether starter or swing tackle.

Cam Erving played well in limited time when moved to LT, but he's also seems very injury prone.

Knight can play swing tackle but he's limited athletically and a better fit inside at OG. But we still sorely need his depth help and game experience.

Steele is a learning rookie but he's struggled often in basically every game this year. I really like much more better options as a insurance backup.

We dunno the hip situation on Collins than what team lets on. If we end up drafting OTs very high within first 3 rounds, we'll know it has something to do with
either Collins or Tyron Smith.

I wouldn't mind McGovern given a real shot at LG simply because Williams is a soon to be UFA after next year.

Not sure this team is going to sign another 2nd contract to anyone on the offensive line now, expensive or not.

Connor Williams is a solid player.

Problem is we need road graders.
He has to be the weakest guard in the league, going from Leary to Williams is depressing.

We were always better with Leary in the lineup.. We forced La'el Collins to start over Leary as well as Connor Williams.

We've never replaced him and the bull dozing he brought to that position.

As long as Connor Williams is cheap against the cap I have no problem with him but we need a road grader at guard.

Pitiful when posters keep thinking Ron Leary was the long term answer when he only had one stellar year in his entire NFL career.
He had the one long wonder year in 2016, and he's not been an impact factor since.

Had we re-signed him long term, we would have gotten same kind of decent -JAG like career that Leary has had with Denver.

He was good in 14 and 16.. I don't remember much about him before 14 and didn't pay attention to his time in Denver.

I didn't say we needed to sign him long term.. Just that when we were road grading teams he was one of the best run blockers of the bunch and that includes Martin and T. Fred.

He had surgery to repair his hip. If he wasn't going to be able to play again, he'd likely not have had surgery.

I dunno about Williams ability and long term potential at OT at the NFL level,... but I don't see what's the harm in having him learn and flex to OT to at least give him a look in camp
so he could be a possible swing tackle, injury emergency pinch,.. instead of continuing to rely on the likes of Steele.

But it depends primarily on the coaching staff -particularly OL coach Joe Philibin, and as we discovered, he can have some odd thinking that could hindering.
if not for the injuries and Steele struggles, McGovern simply have never gotten on the playing field. He would have had a Bradley Anae like redshirt wipe out year.

Now that we've extensively seen McGovern in action, we know that he can play serviceable - and keep in mind that this is really his rookie year of gaining considerable
playing time on the field for the first time in his NFL career.

If we had a full training time and Smith and Collins weren’t available, would playing Williams, Knight, Biadasz, McGovern, Martin be the best use of the roster?

Next if Smith and Collins are available, should Knight, McGovern, and Williams compete for starting LG?

He had surgery because he was in unbearable pain. We don’t know if the pain was just while he was on the field.

Read some of the cryptic Jerry and Cowboy posts on Collins. Collins pretty much kept the team in the dark with his hip, the car accident, etc.

Doesn’t sound good to me especially radio silence after the surgery. Haven’t seen one video of him working out or even at the facility. Like to see one if someone has something. Can’t say that we heard anything about Collins post surgery and we had little info before with a lot of obfuscation from Collins and the Cowboys.

My guess is that there is some bad blood between Collins and the team about this situation and how Collins handled it. Cowboys wanted Collins to wait and get rest to come back later in the year. Collins went for the surgery pretty quickly.

Umm, car accident wasn't how he got injured.

how about one fans and media stop playing GM, then lets have them be in full competition during the off season, hopefully there are actual MCs, OTas, TCs and PS games to like a real comp happen,,

you don t just hand or move players , not how it works..Cwill may nt be PB but he wasn't the big issue this season..it was the missing players..
