What player are they drafting at #6 that is so much better than the player they would have drafted at #9?
Depends on who they pick.
They could end up with JaMarr Chase and making up for not trading up for Cee Dee Lamb last year.
I would love to have the satisfaction of the Eagles losing out on a player not falling to them.
Now they could very well get the best WR in the draft.

The organization obviously told Pederson to tank that game. Pulling Hurts in the 2nd half and then trying to explain it away that they want to get a look at the young QB. Well what the hell is Hurts? Hurts was pissed as you could see him on the sidelines saying, “this is just wrong”. The rest of the players I’m sure felt the same way. The team was told to tank so that they could get a higher draft pick. Sure they have a higher draft pick but it has cost them the locker room. The players are going to be pissed and it’s going to cause problems for the team going into next season. This is why you don’t tank. The Eagles FO has blown it big time again.
So you are admitting teams tank now?
Hypocrisy at its finest.

No question.....said in another thread, it has Howie Roseman written all over it.

There never has been a tanking of a game before Sunday night's by the eagles?

:muttley::facepalm:

Yes there have but the problem is getting worse year after year and when Networks are paying over a billion dollars for the NFL package and have games flexed to prime time with playoff consequences to have a team then mail it in is an embarrassment for the NFL and these Networks trying to sell advertising......Time for a top ten draft NFL lottery, it's coming because the NFL and networks are going to demand it after that charade Sunday night....

What's done is done and all the philosophical debate will not change what has happened. Tanking's real test comes in late April.

Does Philadelphia stand pat? Do they trade up? Do they trade down? And most importantly, what actual player or players will the Eagles acquire as a consequence of how the team played the game (coaching in particular)?

It is a common habit to grade drafts instantly instead of waiting several seasons to evaluate draftees and their classes. Hopefully, the Eagles' picks will be scrutinized more closely than usual because of Sunday night.

I have never seen a football game with obvious tanking as the Eagles yesterday.

The timing of what the coach did made it look much worse. But it's really no different than what the Chiefs did yesterday. Nate Sudfeld did have the opportunity to win it.

I'm always impressed by the number of mind readers I see on message boards. Personally, I'd find more productive ways to use that talent.

So let me get this straight: the plan was to take a lead in the second half, to make it look good, let the WFT score (but make them run several plays to do it), then have Hurts fail on 4th and goal. Then in the 4th quarter of a meaningless game (Giants are not your problem), put the in back up QB to complete the tank...just make it look good first.

If the Eagles were good enough to manipulate games that way they would've won more than 4 of them. :muttley:

I never even watched the game. Once we lost I knew it didn’t matter for us. Guess they wanted the draft spot.

They smeared their own team’s reputation while knocking the Giants out of the playoffs and cheapening a division title for the WFT. Aside from them drafting in position number six, this is a win, win, win.

Karma is they blow the 6th pick. Like take D Smith from Bama and he ends up sucking.

Their rationale is bizarre though. They wanted to see Sutfeld? Really? That’s what you wanted?? LOL.

The problem for the Eagles is that they should have advance noticed the league office before shining the bright light on this game. I don't know how Lurie does that but he made the NFL look really bad.

NBC wanted some drama added to their game and got a soap opera.

I hope they gave Pederson a bonus for that pathetic acting job at the post game. Talk about falling on your sword.

A bright spot in this crazy season is that train-wreck of a team, the Eagles, what a mess.

LMAO! People are calling it a tank, because the coach benched a QB who was completing 35% of his passes 7-20 with 72 yards passing! The debate should be, why wasn't he benched sooner.
