The problem between Aikman and Romo is we trotted out Quincy Carter, Hutchinson, Stoerner, Leaf, and whatever other garbage i'm forgetting.

Plus.. It's a different league. Quality QB's are everywhere. You can find a solid guy on the streets and win games at the same rate Prescott is winning them.

A lof of these QB's go as their team goes with very few exceptions.

I know it hurts to hear this.. Dak Prescott is not a special QB.

Well.. Dalton was winning at the same rate Dak was.. If Dalton doesn't get hurt I think we still make the playoffs.

Dak is getting put on a pedestal he doesn't belong on because of some stats in games against defenses that sucked at defending the pass that we ended up losing anyways.

The offense wasn't that good either until we looked up and were forced to throw all over teams that suck at defending it.
playing against college level competition....yeah, then you would be right. he couldn't beat teams with their starting QB, except one

Also 20 players are UFA’s.
So to release the majority of them and signing cheaper scrubs should help. LOL.
DAL can barely field a freaking team today and even that’s a terrible team.
But the answer is to attempt more of the same idiocy by kicking down the cap mess again and they’ve even hit the end of that road with a whopping 24 MIL up against the cap today.
LOL.
Nothing to see here, folks.
have you seen the list of those 20? most of it is laugable group that contributed to an all time worst defense...4 of them we got rid of mid season....

Dak beat 1.5 starting QB's.

Dalton beat 1.5 starting QB's.. Didn't need a watermelon kick to do it either.
in 2019? ion 2018? in 2017? in 2016?

and Dalton hasn't beaten but 2 starting QBs in two years.....and has progressively gotten worse....

that last throw, Interception against Giants sums up Dalton....the stupidest throw I have seen from a veteran no less.....

No, no, the "idiots" angle is your view, that's not mine. I don't agree with you in that evaluation.

Further, we've never really tried to build a Defense. We've adopted the idea of trying to score 40 points a game and just fielding 11 other guys on Defense. In truth, I don't know if this team can or can't build a decent defense. I suspect they can because talent wasn't ever the issue. Paying for talent or spending resources on talent, through the draft, for Defensive talent hasn't really been tried with this new staff. I haven't really seen what this staffs personnel might look like, to fit this scheme. We've really only seen them trying to fit existing talent into a scheme devised by the staff.
That’s not true. We have tried to build a defense but between the priorities , the bust in the draft and risk in drafts on injury history players and a problem player it has stymied a better defense being built.

Flip it. What if our 1st round picks on offense had been injury risk or bust. What kind of offense would we have ?

dalton beat Cousins...with defense contributing heavily....

that's it....he struggled against three 4 win teams with their back up QBs needing 9....NINE turnovers to do it.....oh and a defensive TD

Dak beat two starting QBs...the Giants game is not split between the two. this is not Baseball.....but hey you tried.

Yeah.. I'm just messing with you..

I judge Dalton and Dak on their careers and not a small sample size anyways.

Dak is a great QB?

IF you think he is great than I understand wanting to pay him.

Yes, I think he's great. But I will qualify that as being under Elite. I do not believe him to be on the Rogers, Maholmes, Brady level.

I see him under Wilson, near Watson, but above Goff, Jackson, Murray, Ryan, Stafford, Etc...

So maybe around top 6

What do you think Jethro, Stephen , our FO and coaching staff thinks? That’s all that really matters.

I think they care about being relevant and Dak certainly keeps us relevant.

I thought they were getting smart and operating like a smart team should when they let D.Ware go at the end of his career and refused to pay Murray as well.

As much as I love Dez they identified the writing on the wall with him and made that move.

Then they started getting country club again and brought back guys like Witten and gave him a big role.

Signed Zeke 2 years before his deal was up.

Over invested in WR's.. (This one is not so bad but it's not how you build a team.. Although Dak sucked in 18 because they thought he was a good enough QB to use normal guys along with Linehan capable of scheming people open so they had to trade for Amari.)

So I expect Dallas to operate like they have been.

There are plenty guys available that you will see no drop off from in terms of team results.

IF you lose Russel Wilson? Yeah.. Thats huge.

But an Old Drew Brees goes down? Well a Teddy Bridgewater can come in and real off 6 or 7 in a row including beating Dak Prescotts Cowboys.

It's more about how good your team is than it is the QB unless that QB is truly elite.
Dak outplayed Russell in the playoffs. Just saying.

Oh yeah. He isnt a difference maker.

Hows Kaaya?

And it's like the fan base has also forgot the time between Aikman & Romo.

or 2015.

or this year....

So.... you do understand that the late 90s, early 2000s is the the time frame between Aikman and Romo yes? So, I acknowledge that Aikman's career officially ended in 2000 but it was really over after he was injured in like 98/99. So perhaps there is a bit of a disconnect there. But again, you also understand that mismanagement of the cap, and Aikman's contract (in no small part) was responsible for why we were in the situation we were in the early to mid 2000s right? I mean, you do acknowledge that as fact correct?

2015, what's your beef there? Is it that we didn't have a decent backup to Romo? Well, why is that? Could it be because we were paying Romo and the very same agent that is representing Dak a huge amount of cap and we couldn't afford to bring in a decent Backup for Romo?

What's our beef this year? We had Dak and he got himself injured but he wasn't winning before he went out and the backup, Dalton actually had a higher winning percentage. What is the issue this year?

Dak’s ‘jump’ in 2019, was basically schematic as far as Moore goes. The main difference between him and Linehan is that Moore called way more play action off of shotgun. Moore also started throwing more on first down. Of course as the season went on, teams adjusted.

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/20...lysis-performance-shotgun-play-action-week-1/

Like I said, Dak’s success is predicated on the established RG of four years. This is why I completely believe Dak getting injured right before the OL completed imploded prevented him from getting exposed. As I stated before, Dak in five games threw more off play action than Andy did in 11 games and by week 11, Andy had the fourth quickest release along all QBs. Moore had to completely adjust the play calling to take into account the fact the OL couldn’t hold.

Anybody that watched the Cleveland game had already begun to see how defenders were keying in on Dak starting down and throwing off his first read in play action, which even “Blogging the Boys” started acknowledging. He should have been intercepted multiple times.
