Nope. Watson is causing a stir because of how the front office in Houston operates.........oil, meet water.

Keeping in mind that Deshawn Watson is under contract for the next 5 years at a cap hit average of 33 m/yr and is coming off an outstanding season on a cruddy team....

105.3 The Fan was asking its listeners the other day if they would make this trade:

  • Dallas trades 27 year old Dak Prescott (and his expected 40 m/yr for 5 years asking price) plus their 2021 1st rounder

  • Houston trades 25 year old Deshawn Watson (ave cap 33 mil for nxt 5 years)

Would you do it?
Yes

I wouldn't trade the 10th pick away.... 2nd round maybe. If Dak and his clan are that greedy that no matter what offer the Cowboys send they are going to not take it, might as well start talking about things like this. I'm a Dak fan too but it is what it is. Watson would do damage with this offense too. No doubt.
I like Dak, but Watson could really make this team dangerous with all of the weapons. And he would be cheaper and on a longer deal. He wanted to come to Dallas.

I'd try to avoid including pick 10

I don't quite understand how a QB coming off a serious injury gets 40 million, but ok. And no I wouldn't do that trade.

Count me as a no.. I might do it straight up just because Watson is younger and cheaper for now but not so much when that extension kicks in. He also just went 4-12. Blame as many other people as you like but you can't sit here and say Dak has to wear all those losses when the defense was giving up 35 points a game and then in the same breath tell me you want a guy who lost at a higher rate with a better defense on his side. That dawg won't hunt here.. The other factor for me is Dak is an ascending player. Can anyone truthfully say Watson is appreciably better than he was as a rookie? Now ask the same question about Dak.. Certainly there will be those who will say Dak isn't any better and will never get any better but those people are not logical so we have to ignore them. And for all his personnel mismanagement O'Brien was at least good at developing QBs. Dude made the playoffs with like 4 different QBs..

Why would you propose sending a 1st?

None of us know what dak wanted. All we know is the pie is smaller this year. Dalton's final performance upped dak's demands. Expect tough negotiations again.

This a dumb poll and trade.

we all know Andy Dalton has more value. Didn’t he do the same with no massive gap. Tag Andy, trade Andy to Texans for Watson. Let Dak back-up Watson. Because Dak is same as
Dalton

Would have to be someone like him or better or the fan base would lose their minds. It's pretty clear a guy (so called starter) like Dalton would not be accepted if we lose Dak. Has to be better. The 7-8 million savings would pay a big name Safety so I'd be for it. We could have Marcus Maye + another guy, easily...
