yeah I dont think he would get along with the jones boys. And I dont think he would want to deal with jaylon being a cornerstone!!Would Jim Schwartz be willing to saddle up with the Cowboys' organization? Now, there's a good question!
I just say NO to re-treads as coordinators. Always better to go young/hungry. Not set in their ways and looking to prove themselves for future positions.
How about Orlondo Steinauer (Hamilton Tiger-cats HC) or Jim Leonhard (Wisconsin DC) as our DC?
Very true.Looks like Schwartz is stepping away from football. I do think he's a good DC. As far as Patricia, I am leery of any DC who only had success while coaching with Belicheck. Seems like they all do well while in New England.
Jerry and Spaulding will be "safe" with their selection though. You know it.. I would be all on board with either of those guys.
Oh for sure. I know they'll go the "safe" route. Steinauer would be the outside the box route, and Leonhard would be the hardnosed route. I think Steinauer would be the better of the two routes because he's done well with the CFL.
He fired and demoted Scott McCurley in Green Bay.The question is, would MM hire someone he fired previously?
Wow....Cowboy fans love retreads
Us fans have no friggin clue who is a good coach to hire and who isn’t. We’re not there day in and day out to see how they interact with the players. There’s 2 elements to being a great coach. 1st is how they interact with the players. I don’t care how good your scheme is if you can’t relate to the players and command their respect you will fail. Period. 2nd is their scheme and how they can disguise their plays. So saying this coach is the right guy or that coach is the right guy is just showing your lack of awareness in how things work.I like that Jim Schwartz values DTs and displays fire and brimstone with his coaching. I also would love for Schwartz to take this tenacity to the Eagles. Jim Schwartz really understands defensive line schematics and also understands that games are won in the trench. I was pissed that Dallas did not hire him after the Lions fired him.
My 2nd choice is Matt Patricia. He was excellent in New England at taking away a team’s #1 receiver and RB. Patricia’s in-game and half-time adjustments were 2nd to none.
Just not realistic with this org anymore. They used to be forward thinkers. Now they are "we wish we were them" types. Sad...
It really is. Plus, you have coaches like Steinauer who haven't coached in the NFL who I'd imagine would love an opportunity. Just the kind of coach Jerry could work with. But, Jerry doesn't have that ability. Could fix a lot of problems. Could find a defencive Sean McVay.
Jerry "doesn't have time". That's in his mind as why he needs experience guys, he's wasted a lot of talent and probably more ultimate success because of his own inner-fears. Surprised he's made billions but we've seen a lot of crazy rich people lately. LOL
