I think if your interviewing for a job, the worst thing you can do is disparage current players........let alone pet project players with fat cap numbers. Pretty sure Quinn is stuck with Jaylon.

Jerry is a straight shooter. I suspect Jerry to expect the same. Who wouldn’t? Everyone wants to hear the truth and honesty.

I think pretty much every coach knows what to do in an interview with Jerry and McCarthy. These are known entities. The coaches talk amongst themselves. Not many secrets in the NFL.

If I were interviewing I would be brutally honest. Especially with Jerry. He wants the truth and honest independent evaluations and not PC.

Best question to ask Quinn: who else should I be interviewing for DC? Someone with confidence in himself would give you names. The CEO of Pixar got his start at a start-up company being the only person to respond to that question. It showed that he was confident and not afraid to surround himself with other talented people.
Jerry wants the truth? According to whom?

Me, myself and I.
Every GM and HC wants an honest opinion.
I believe McCarthy gets the DC he wants. Jerry will let McCarthy have who he wants. Jerry learned from the Garrett disaster. I think. I hope.

I would ask a prospective coordinator how he planned to improve a players performance. I wouldn't ask him about releasing said player. The whole idea is to get better.

I agree. A few posters accused me of defending...not at all I just hold the other linebackers accountable just like we do Jaylon and the fact is as bad as Jaylon has been he rates higher than anyone of our other linebackers. But yeah Lawrence use to get this hate too until people started seeing him grade out as one of the best in the league...that talk has now whispered...funny lol.
You make a great point. You don't see them talking when Lee misses a tackle or assignment. The funniest thing they argue is Jaylon makes tackles but beyond the line of scrimmage....... it's like the ones that say garbage time stats. Absolutely ridiculous

Let’s see, Jerry your FA signings suck, your defensive players suck, your GM sucks for the contracts he gave out, your drafts are terrible over all and your GM doesn’t know talent. Your stud cornerstone LB is a anchor and your war daddy is a joke. Can I have the job since I’m so honest and you wanted to hear the truth. What planet are you from.

I agree. Especially with other LBs rated ahead of Leighton and at the time was said to be a reach.

Jaylon on the other hand was said he might not ever play again and not only has he stayed healthy and played every game but was a probowl player. The hate he gets is just as bad as the Dak hate in a lot of ways. Difference being that Dak is top 5 at his position and Jaylon is down the list a little bit.
You’re smoking crack if you think Jaylon is as good a linebacker as Dak is a quarterback. They’re not even in the same league in terms of positional ranking. Jaylon is down right terrible. He needs to go and take LVE & Lee with him.

“You don't see them talking when Lee misses a tackle or assignment”

Tf are you talking about? People have literally been hating on Lee for the past 3 years, saying he should retire. Dude is way past his prime. He needs to go. Everyone hates “Snake”.

The difference is Lee isn’t a starter. He’s not making the money Jaylon is, nor is he getting even a 1/3 of his snaps. He barely plays. People hold Jaylon to a higher standard because he’s suppose to be our best LB. When you see this moron celebrate a tackle after giving up a first down, how do you expect fans to react?

Don’t ever compare Jaylon to Dak. Dak is a hell of a player, & leader. Jaylon is nothing in comparison.

And you're smoking crack if you can't read the entire post instead of jumping to conclusions

“Down the list a little bit”, lmao. Again, Jaylon will never be considered the player Dak is.

I'm one that has hated on Jaylon a lot this year. I think I hate Jaylon because it doesn't seem like he is trying hard on every play. The quote he had at the end of the year, "go watch the film of me" or whatever it was kind of sealed it for me. I like Dak but I will point out when Dak has a bad game or bad turnover in a game. I hate on Jaylon cuz Jaylon doesn't own up to his bad play. At least Dak will take accountability for his bad games. I respect that in Dak. He has a humbleness about him. Jaylon would be good to learn some of that from Dak.
