I bet you said the same thing when Mike Nolan was hired.

AT LEAST HE'S NOT MARINELLI. WHO CARES ABOUT PAST HISTORY AMIRITE?

look you missed the point , first off Nolan was given zero offseason to implement his defense and when they finally started playing he was handed a bunch of failed FAs and left others from a completely different defensive scheme and a bunch of injuries..he was the scape goat and now hes gone..the next guy without players will also fail..there were a whole lot of teams that had playoff aspirations that met the same fate this year like SF, NE, MN, philly, Texans, and others..

so if this happens again where all the FA acquisitions dont make it to the BYE and we have rash of injuries to key positions and try and fill those holes with left over street guy's 9 weeks into the season, yes Quinn will have bad year..

Nolan could have stayed and given better player sand more luck with injuries' would have improved year 2..again scapegoat and i dont care they let him go or if they kept him, i need to see the players we keep, cut, go after in FA and the draft,..thats what will be a better determination of success of failure for 2021

it was blatantly obvious that injuries and lack of talent led to 6-10 far more then any other factors..spit happens..

No, I would not but you have to look at their entire body of work......not just Atlanta. Let put it another way......would you want an employer judging your talent/skills from just ONE JOB???? (lol)

That is true. The thing that makes me hopeful about Whitt is his work at GB. GB had some pretty good corners and safeties for a while, and they weren't all high picks.

I just wonder what the heck happened at ATL

There's like 7 teams that are missing coaching staffs in the nfl. I don't think they're all going to be able to fill those roles. Cowboys are scooping up all of the great coaches the nfl has to offer

And the couch / basement GM's on here think Jerry does not know what he is doing.

Jerry : “Hey Dan, we will hire you. But you’re won’t get to pick your staff, the players or the scheme. Basically I just need you to stand on the sidelines and be the fall guy. Thanks”

Pardon me, but, If I may say..

Didn't the past "reunion" with Nolan and McCarthy not go so well?

Yet, they do it again?

Ughhhh.. This FO.

A guy who was also noted as a possible DC was hired to coach the secondary and coordinate the defensive passing game. The new DC has a guy on staff coaching the back end who knows his scheme and is loyal.

I see nothing wrong with this. It makes more sense than hiring a bunch of familiar names who have never worked together and hoping they will blend and coach to the same goal.

One thing I’m sure about. The defense will be better next year because it cannot be worse.
