The Fan Zone is turning into the NFL Zone. I don’t have an issue with it but if you’re going to allow NFL news that’s unrelated to the Cowboys in the Fan Zone then might as well do away with the NFL Zone. Just my opinion.

Makes sense. There aren't that many NFL Zone threads anyway, couldn't hurt.

Linked article says he's in advanced talks with them for their opening. Other articles from the NY Post are saying it's pretty much a done deal.

Fascinating hire.

Would be an excellent hire...it is his old stumping grounds winning championships at **, he would have total control as he should being pretty much HC and defacto AD in all his stops, he will have the no. 1 pick in the draft for either Lawrence or Fields (more draft trade bait), Jags have a lot of salary cap space, all the drama of Ramsey, Caughlin, Marone, Nagkoue, and draft with 2 no.1, 2 no. 2, and 3rd round pick.

Sounds like another Jimmy Johnson 5 years, and Super Bowl, and done story without Jerry Jones firing him.

I was at his final pre game pep really at OSU before they crushed Michigan. (Family is all alums). He definitely knows how to lead a team and pump up a room

He has some offensive weapons in Chark, Laviska and Robinson

This paves the way for Saban to return to the NFL right after we fire MM.
He's not leaving the best job in football. He's already tasted the bitter fruit of the NFL and couldn't wait to get back to college. Control freaks don't do well in the NFL coaching players with contracts.

College is still a coaches wagging the tail situation but the NFL has changed to the coaches being the tail and the players are the dog. Other pro sports were out in front of the NFL but it caught up.

Stop blaming our QB! The Cowboys haven’t been to a Super Bowl in 25 years.

most people can hold 2 ideas in their head at the same time

yes, Jerry is responsible but Dak is also responsible

and we won’t go for the next 5 because we will pay 40 million to an above average qb

Appears you can only hold one idea in your head. Jerry is responsible he hires the coaches and controls the draft. It wasn’t Romo’s or Dak’s fault that we can’t build a solid, respectable defense. QBs are always going to take some of the heat for their teams lack of success but Dak is one of the better QBs in the league and he gives us a chance every week. Any chance of winning a Super Bowl starts with a QB. Look at Belichick and the Pats having to sit home and watch Brady advance in the playoffs with another team. Many on this board were screaming for us to sign Cam Newton and release Dak. lol

Dak was playing at an elite level when he was injured last season. We had the most prolific passing offense in the league. Dak gives us the best chance to get back to a Super Bowl provided we can fix the defense. We would have won the NFC East had he not got injured. Regardless of our record we had a shot in the NFC had we made the playoffs because there’s no dominant team. Washington stayed with Tampa throughout the game despite playing with a QB they plucked off the streets a couple of weeks earlier. Have they had better QB play they probably would’ve won.

I’m supposed to be able to talk logically with someone who thinks “we had a shot in the NFC”

Did Meyer want to come here? Probably not.
He said on a pregame show that he would be interested in the Cowboys but Booger never responded. I think he expected a call after that.

One thing that is apparent, at least to me, is that Booger doesn't have much respect for coaches. Which is really strange since Frank Broyles was such an inspiration to him in his life. And Switzer really connected with both Booger and Johnson at AR.
