I think I owe Cole Beasley an apology

When he left for the Bills, he commented on how the training facilities were better in Buffalo than here. As a diehard Cowboys fan (which I still very much am for God knows why), I didn't want to believe it. However, having seen what I watched in the game against the Ravens and realising that the Bills have beaten us back to the AFC Championship, I have to admit that I was wrong. The Bills are clearly a better run organisation than we are at the moment. I strongly hope that this changes for the Cowboys. I'd love for us to get back to glory. However, I must say, Cole Beasley was right.

Bills have a lot more going on than training facilities. They hired a guy from the Andy Reid coaching tree, moved up to draft their QB, rebuilt their OL, made big time moves to grab guys that can catch passes, and have a good balance on defense of high drafted young guys and veteran players from similar systems.

I'm happy for Beas.

Oh, I agree. I'm just acknowledging my mistake in ridiculing Beasley. They've got MUCH better coaching. They've got a better owner. They've focused on their defence. That defence made Lamar Jackson's life miserable, which is a mark of a very good defence. I genuinely think they or the Chiefs can beat the Packers for the SB. Who'd have thought when Beasley left for the Bills that they are a legitimate Super Bowl contender? Meanwhile, we're contending for the ring pop rings.

The Bills have been terrible for longer than the Cowboys. They’re only now starting to turn it around.

I liked Cole, but he went mostly where the money was. Not because of the Bills. If the Cowboys paid him he would’ve stayed here.

Oh, I agree. But the facts are the facts. They've turned it around, and they're slamming in Jerry's face how to fix the bloody problems. Build a defence, obtain good coaches, and win in the trenches.

Let's see what next year can bring. Judging the Cowboys off the 2020 season is pretty meaningless based on everything that happened.

I strongly hope that 2021 is a better season for us. We need it to be. I anticipate a playoff appearance. After a bad season, the Cowboys tend to make it the following year, so hopefully it stays on that track. I just hope we fix the defence in this offseason. If we want to make a serious run of it, we need to.

How could it not be? Serious question. Every possible thing that could go wrong did. No way anything close to that can happen in back to back years.

For sure, 2020 was an example of Murphy's Law. Just about everything that could go wrong went wrong. We couldn't play defence. Dak, who hadn't missed a game before this season, got hurt on a freak play that knocked him out for the season, COVID, no offseason while trying to install a new coaching staff and system. So, I expect next season to be better. We should have an offseason. We should have a preseason, and a lot of other things that we need. I just hope that this team is serious about fixing this defence. If we're going to make a serious run of it, that needs fixing, and we need to keep Dak.

Beasley with 2 tgts and 0 catches tonight.

I'm not saying he played well. I'm just talking, organisation to organisation at the moment, I think the facts speak for themselves. The Bills are functioning better than we are at the moment. I want that to be fixed.

I mean... their facilities aren’t better. Not a shot on Buffalo or anything, but Jerry has some pretty good things set up for the players. Almost too good (our facilites are basically a country club/resort/spa for the players).

Buffalo has better coaches and resources though.
I’m pretty sure it was New England, but, some team said their practices were rigid compared to the other team they were on. I’m pretty sure Dallas is the most laidback team in the league. 1 hour practices, 1 hour media session, that’s it. That’s why they suck every year.

I’m happy for em though. Hope he gets his ring. Everyone deserves one, sadly, the players that sign here won’t be getting one for a very long time.

I think the Cowboys training facilities are the best in the NFL. And I think that’s one reason why the Cowboys have endured years of failures. Entitlement breeds complacency.

You're probably right. I do think Jerry has coddled the players for far too long. For him, it's the bigger and shinier the object, the better the team will be. Meanwhile, perennial laughing stocks Browns and Bills are running circles around us.
