An aging, cash strapped team who's overpaid, overrated star QB wants out, but an owner who wants to keep him over a coach who won a SB without him. Yup, fail in waiting.

Like I said, $30M+ guaranteed regardless of win or lose is not a fail. Looks like the Eagles found a better, cheaper QB so Wentz is really not an issue.

This is standard operation for a coordinator though.
You get a chance to interview for a HC position in the NFL, you take it!
Even if it's just to practice for the job you really may want in the future.

There's a reason it's in the rules that management and ownership cannot block this situation.

This is common practice every year.
Why should Kellen be held upon higher ground?

I understand the norms, but Philly's search is atypical. Taking the situation as a whole, with Moore being three years removed from a back-up QB and Dallas giving him unprecedented coaching opportunities for someone of his experience--add the fact that he just turned down a collegiate level HC position and signed a contact with Dallas--I thought the prudent move would have been to respectfully decline the interview with a division rival who is unlikely to be seriously considering him as a NFL HC at this time.

But who knows, maybe he discussed with Jerry and got his blessing.

Exactly, 99% of these coaches are 40+ year old men who Could be broken in half by any of the guys in the NFL locker room.

Good leaders lead by virtue like our lord and savior Jesus.
Tell this to prospective volunteers at navy seal training. 70-80% fail. No place for sensitive Sarah's.

Yea they do. The way they carry themselves, they way they speak, I see a confidence in them I haven't seen from KM. Maybe those around him see it it's not like im in his meetings but i've heard the same things from Fish....oh dam you have me believing something he says...dangit coach.
Ha, I haven't seen him speak enough to evaluate that part of it. But it seems to be his mind the players talk about and Sean Lee was doing that in Moore's first year.

Some seem to think they want to pic Moore's brain but what's to prevent him from doing the same?

I imagine this interview to be like the end of the film "Thirteen Days" when Bobby Kennedy is in the Russian embassy meeting.

The Philadelphia Eagles appear to be narrowing their head coach search, and Josh McDaniels is still in the picture.

The New England Patriots offensive coordinator has been reported as one of the top candidates to land the Eagles job after an extensive interview with Philly over the weekend.

But McDaniels faces stiff competition in Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley, 94WIP's Howard Eskin reports.

"I hear it is most likely going to come down to Josh McDaniels or Duce Staley," Eskin said Tuesday on 94WIP.

Let's be honest, if you are one of the 245 guys who have interviewed, they clearly don't have someone they love so far, and I for one would tell them to go pound sand and take my name out of the hat. The GM and owner run this team which makes it worse than us who only have GM/OWNER play one role

These interviews are important even if you don't get the job. People in front offices move around as well and it is good for any coach to get brought in for an interview and to make connections for down the road. I think Philly has narrowed their search and Moore likely will not be offered the job

You don't think he is an issue based on his contract, the investment they have in him and their cap situation for next year with him presumably on the bench? As for hurts, he still has a long ways to go but looks decent so far.

Teams spend enough time to figure out what teams are doing. Not really concered about that, hell players move around enough as well so there are no hidden secreats

Broaddus said on the radio yesterday that Kellen just isn't ready yet. Said his Philly guys told him his interview was very "nervous."

I've heard two things:

1. Eagles take the old 76ers GM (Sam Hinkie) approach, and interview a lot of people they may not intend to hire, in order to gain intel and pick their brains on how their orgs are run, etc.
2. He actually may be a candidate for the job

I’m counting on it being Duce Staley. He’s been around forever and would take the job in a heartbeat, no matter how much of a mess the team is in.

Their next coach will take a bunch of abuse during a huge rebuild.

So Duce Staley is now ahead of a guy like Bieniemy? Unreal. Great article today about people sleeping on Bieniemy and why the excuses are lame. I get he has a past but that was 30 yrs ago. Only thing I can think is he has a chip that shows in interviews

whoever the eagles hire, he will have to bend the knee to howie roseman. when andy reid would not, he was fired. chip kelly probably deserved to be fired. when pederson would not bend the knee, he was fired. howie has jeffrey lurie's ear like cheney had young bush's. if howie considers dallas as the greatest nfce threat, he would make a serious run at moore to hurt the cowboys, just the way he gave a ridiculous contract to demarco murray years ago. it's just how he operates.
