The new GM for Detroit came from LA. You may be right and Goff may continue to struggle— Or the Detroit GM is crazy like a fox and has a good idea about how to help get him right.

Either way— Detroit was ready to move on from Stafford anyway, and they just got a bunch of picks to improve their squad. But it would definitely be “Detroit” for Goff to suck, and for them to whiff on all those picks lol
I think it was just him knowing he could get more out of the trade taking Goff's contract on. They are gonna be bad for a couple years, and they really aren't in a spot in the draft to get a QB this year. QB is Question 1 for any rebuilding team. To me the real genius from the Lions side is they get assets to make a move for a QB prospect in the future if they dont get into a draft position organically.

Dak and his agent just did a fist pump seeing one less QB available.
Its going to be very interesting to see if Stafford is going to be what they hope for. Stafford has been stuck with a crappy team forever and has really never had much help. Yeah he had Calvin Johnson but one WR doesnt do it against the better teams. Stafford is probably dancing in the streets so happy to go to a good team with a good offensive coach.
He is only 32. Probably got a good 5 to 6 left in him

For sure. If Goff isn’t the guy, they are definitely in a position to acquire a top QB prospect in the next two years.

Rams had Goff, a first overall pick, backed up by Bottles, a 3rd overall pick, and that wasn't good enough. They had to trade for another first overall pick.......and some were talking about tanking the season to get a QB drafted high?

Just goes to show that even at the very top of the draft, it can still be a crap shoot.

All those Dak fans who have trashed Stafford on CZ in recent days look dumb now.

Anyone who WATCHES football rather than watching fantasy football and Madden stats can see Stafford is an elite top 5 QB and >>>>>>> Dak.

Man, I'm a big Dak fan, but that draft haul is something else. I would totally trade him for 2 1sts and a third, draft a young QB and start again. Wow! With the shape our D is in, it's not like we're going to the SB any time soon

Dak isn't worth trading for a can of Spam.

What we're seeing is GMs re-assessing their approach based on evidence.

The evidence from TB shows that it is easier to get to a SB by signing and elite QB than investing loads of first round picks on trying to surround a mediocre QB with elite talent ala Dak.

Think of it this way. The 2 x 1sts and a 3rd invested by the Rams is much cheaper than the 1st rounders the Cowboys have invested in Daks supporting cast. Sure Cowboys have put similar resouces into just our WRs without success.

Ok sure bud. Franchise QB in the prime of his career, excellent winning record, setting passing records before freak injury.

The disrespect he gets around here is absurd. Some of you must have never lived through the likes of Chad Hutchinson and Clint Stoerner and Anthony Wright.

This isn't what we're seeing here at all. A QB needy team traded the farm for an over the hill QB who has only ever achieved middling success in his career because they foolishly think they're one person away from the SB. They tried mortgaging everything for Goff. Didn't work. Then they tried again with Ramsey. Didn't work. Now they're taking a third desperate kick of the can at Stafford.

2 years from now when Stafford is retired, and the team is completely devoid of young talent, no one's gonna think the Rams did something smart here.

I think it’s stupid to ignore all of the problems we’re seeing with teams overpaying their QB because of Chad Hutchinson, Clint Stoerner, and Anthony Wright..

The lesson learned in that should be to not dumpster dive for QBs and draft quality.

Which we did, and now have. A quality QB is literally what we have right now, and you guys are too biased and blind to see it

A lot of Cowboys fans wanted Goff but dude is wurst than Dak. I think the Rams gave up too much to get Stafford.

What has Dak's record been since his 13-3 rookie season???? That's right, he is 29-24.....just barely above average. Yeah, setting passing records has really helped Dallas.
