Hell, might as well keep the QB carousel ideas going:

Dallas signs Dak to the non-exclusive franchise tag and Dak and his agents work out a lucrative deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.....Dallas refuses to match and works out the following deal with Dallas:

Las Vegas receives:

QB Dak Prescott

Dallas receives:

QB Derek Carr
SS Jonathan Abrams
Las Vegas 2021 1st round draft pick (#17 overall)
Las Vegas 2021 2nd round draft pick (#48)

Dallas gets a 30 year old QB who is playing well which allows them time to find a new young QB to develop in the next year or two. Carr's contract is extremely affordable ($22M in 2021 and $19.8M in 2022) while Las Vegas gets the big name QB to try and draw a crowd while also allowing John Gruden to try and save his arse. Dallas also gets back in return a young safety that will be under team control for the next 3 years with the 5th year rookie option. Lastly Dallas also gets a few draft picks which will help out in trying to rebuild the defense.

2021 Dallas early round draft picks

#10 CB Caleb Farley Virginia Tech Debated top cornerback with size (6' 2" 207 pounds) who will partner with Diggs on the outside
#17 CB Jaycee Horn South Carolina Dallas grabs another quality cornerback with size (6' 1" 205 pounds) who will man the slot CB role
#44 FS Trevon Moehrig TCU Dallas grabs a top free safety prospect with size (6' 2" 203 pounds) to completely overhaul the Dallas secondary
#48 DT Tedarrell Slaton Florida Massive (6' 5" 340 pounds) defensive tackle who will offer a major upgrade on the defensive line

This will never happen of course and shows nothing more than how bored I am this morning.
:lmao:
Thats good

You don't pay Dak, Goff, Wentz, Cousins, Jimmy G, Flacco, Bradford types 35 million a year and come out on top. It is an idiotic move to make.
The time to pay Dak was when he could have been signed cheap. The ship has sailed, do not just keep playng the music as we are sinking.
I have nothing against Dak. Smart teams don't overpay at the QB position. The Cowboys need to change as we can see it happening.
We got the best 5 years of Dak from a value and production perspective. Let someone else get buyers remorse. Move on, he will not carry this team to SB.
What is the end result that this team wants?
Do we just want another 10 years or 8-8? If that is your goal.. go ahead and sign Dak. Nothing will change.
That's all fair and reasonable.
But it doesn't mean that You sign any old crapola at QB just because it's cheap.
The night and day difference between last years and this years Bucs tells You how bad Winston is, He couldn't lead a hungry dog to it's dinner bowl.

He's way better than Goff
That’s your opinion. I don’t think so at this point. In addition, one has lead his team to a Super Bowl. The other has never won a playoff game in a decade in the league. I know, different teams. Still, they gave up WAY too much.

Sign Darnold. This team is not going anywhere the next couple of years. Reload, Dak is not a franchise guy. He is a replaceable asset.

I don't think the Rams don't value them, just differently. They want to use them to win now.

This is a good point.

Also, teams, including the Cowboys routinely invest multiple first round picks in units such as WRs or OL. Why not invest in the QB position?

Their goal is simple, get that ring. If they accomplish that, they gave up just the right amount. Anything short of that and anything they gave up would be too much.

Let's not forget this all started with McVay saying Goff was his QB "FOR NOW". That's like introducing your wife to some one, "this is Cindy, my wife....for now". When he said that, the party was over in LA for Goff.
