All of the pundits and former players on the NFL shows say that the Cowboys are disrespecting Dak by not caving into his demands. Well, it can just as easy to say that Dak is disrespecting the Cowboys by holding out for a contract that will put him in the top tear of QB's pay wise while not achieving Top Tear success on the field. Along with not seeming to care that meeting his demands will hinder the teams ability to field a team necessary to help them achieve post season success.

I understand each sides view, I don't see a good guy or bad guy in this. I think too often people need someone to blame, both sides are looking at what they feel is best for them. In the end I do think something will get worked out. Then we can listen to how Jerry overpaid lol

Dak is putting his pockets before winning.

He's convinced himself, like some of you on here, that the money he makes doesn't matter and he can have his cake and eat it too.

We might open a 1 year window in 3 or 4 years if we're lucky.

No.
Neither are disrespecting each other.

it’s business.

the only people who feel disrespected are overly emotional fans.
I said it in another thread. Dak is fine. He is rehabilitating at the Star. Only stupid fans and mediots are worrying about Dak’s contract. The issue is the years not the money. He wants another bite at the apple.

Well, pundits are all about what's best for them. Saying, "Pay The Man" gives them something to write and talk about. It helps them. Once the team pays, they then get to write and talk about how stupid the Cowboys are. Either way, it's good storyline for them and they make money. Players are always on the side of players for the most part because they believe that a player getting paid helps their own cause. I mean, it's not true but that's all too often the mind set. Former players, if you are hearing them, that means they are getting paid and so again, it helps them personally to side with the players. That gives them access, which in turn, gets them more exposure, which translates into money. It's a thing, just use common sense and that, most times, will lead you to the truth IMO.

I don't think either the team or Dak is disrespecting the other. Why can't it just be that both are doing what they feel is right for them? There isn't always a good guy and a villain.

Sorry not everyone agree with you. Dak contact within 3 years will not even be top 5 money, the cap will continue to grow., Evidently you see only 1 year in front of you. If you told me the cap will never budge then I would be more willing to agree but these contract are not some 1 year thing, and guys who looked to be making league high 3 years ago is not even top 5 money and considered a pretty damn good deal. So claiming if we do this deal that our window is 1 year? BS

Why so many assumptions? No one knows what Dak and the Cowboys have discussed or what either is thinking. And why is it ok for other QBs to get paid and not Dak despite him performing at a ridiculously high level? I don’t want to see him just get paid for the heck of it. I just want the forces of supply and demand to kick in and he get fair market value whatever that may be.

Someone wanting to get paid what their performance has shown they are worth (again remembering that there is a difference between how good a team is and how good a player is) is not exactly disrespectful and I have no clue the logical pretzel one would have to twist themselves into to make it so.
