The OP is saying the Raiders are trying to trade for Watson. He is suggesting if they do, then we try to trade for Carr. Prescott wouldn't be part of that deal. That would have to be a separate trade

For the record.. Dak + Carr & there 1st rounder would be a homerun for us.

I don't think it's realistic though.. I would think the NFL would view Dak vs Carr a push.

He might have to be apart of the deal to get Watson to Las Vegas too.

Honestly considering how Carr has started to regain his old form, I don't see why they would trade for Watson. 100+ rating the last two years. Just sub 8 YPA and his TD % jumped a whole percentage point.

It's difficult to have this type of conversation on a board that thinks Dak is as good as Stafford.

It will be difficult for you have this conversation in any forum, as most are of the opinion that Dak is a lot better than you, personally, believe him to be.

Carr had 27 TD's and 9 INT's.. Very Dak like... 29 years old as well.

His cap hit next season would be 22 million.. The year after about 20 million.

Also, maybe that would allow us to trade Dak and possibly get a an extra #1 pick.

I really like Dak, but picking up a Carr and a couple premium draft picks wouldn't be terrible, not at all.

His numbers have been about the same.

Even with Andy Dalton throwing him passes he still manages to get about the same numbers.

He's good for about 80, 1,000, and 7 TD's regardless of who is throwing him the ball.

but why go with carr. he is already a failure and his team wants to trade him....but of all your ideas, I may warm up to this one. my only question is why raiders are giving up on him. he defintley is not a top 10 QB, probably 15 to 20. and with that price tag difference we could sign one defensive FA. is that enough?

we still have to draft well. we are not one player away on defense.

Given the salary differences, I suspect Carr plus a 2021 3rd (or 2022 2nd or 2023 1st) would do the trick.

If you just look at their last 50 games or so--so what is relevant--their numbers are very close.
The same applies if you use all 69 of Dak's games vs the last 69 by Carr. (Carr had a bad 1st year)

and then add a 39 to 40 mill deal? How does that not put them back over the cap? You get rid of the 20 mill off the 21 mill they are over but then you turn around and add 39 to 40 mill back on Watson or Dak? how are you still not well over the cap?

I personally would rather draft.

But some of you are too scared of drafting Quarterbacks.

But Carr at those numbers I feel better about.. Especially if we can get him to sign an extension that takes off more cap pressure.
