Question of the Day: What would it take for Dallas Cowboys to also be Super Bowl Contenders too ?

I have no idea. That's a question Browns fans have been asking since "The Fumble" back in the mid 80s. The Cowboys aren't even a decade ahead of them.

Its not about KC Chiefs - as they have a phenomenal QB in Mahomes and an HOF head coach but look at how they build that team around those two to challenge being a dynasty for years to come.

- Look at the Bucs, who were going thru the Jamis Winston overall No.1 pick and years of mediocrity
but look how that management went out and got the HC, the aging GOAT, they already had skillful WRs
and TEs but they built a champioship contending defense and an OL around Brady

- Look at Buffalo who have been hideous and one of the losing organizations for decades since the Jim Kelly days ..but look how over the years they have build a SB contending team around a HC, QB and other
elements on both sides of the ball ... only KC Chiefs stood in their path to play in SB ..

- And you know GB contended this year with a 2nd year HC ....there's always some questions about their defense rising to play championship defense - but at least they are in the NFC title game

And then where...how close or how far are we the Dallas Cowboys from finally contending for NFC title games and our very own legit SB runs .....

Trenches, defensive personnel and a jones family that stays in their offices and lets the real football minds make the decisions.

Not to mention the refs "placing" NE in the super bowl. JAX would've beated Philly badly. Foles cannot play under pressure and NE did not have much of a pass rush that super bowl.

The refs in that Champ game between JAX and NE made the NO fiasco look like a good call.

A top 10 defense, or a defense that could hold opponents to an average of 20 points or under.

You should happy as a clam. Catch hasnt gotten anything right in 5 years. What he says, basically the opposite happens.

Points allowed per game:

Bucs 8th in the NFL
Chiefs 9th in the NFL

You need a top 10 QB AND a top 10 defense. Trying to do it with just one of those things doesn't work, unless you're the 2000 Ravens.

Well the Cowboys didnt even give Brady a look. Brady signed with Tampa while Dallas chose to go with Prescott. Teams that compete for a SB have a great QB. The running game is secondary and the great QB makes the running game go by throwing screen passes. The great QB can make all the throws and uses ball placement to protect their WR or hit their RB in stride. Great defenses and great running games are complimentary to the great QB. But its the great QB that inspires the players around him to run through a brick wall including the defensive players.

So if we had dumped Dak and signed TB12 we would've avoided the historically bad defensive play and idiotic coaching?
