Question of the Day: What would it take for Dallas Cowboys to also be Super Bowl Contenders too ?

Its not about KC Chiefs - as they have a phenomenal QB in Mahomes and an HOF head coach but look at how they build that team around those two to challenge being a dynasty for years to come.

- Look at the Bucs, who were going thru the Jamis Winston overall No.1 pick and years of mediocrity
but look how that management went out and got the HC, the aging GOAT, they already had skillful WRs
and TEs but they built a champioship contending defense and an OL around Brady

- Look at Buffalo who have been hideous and one of the losing organizations for decades since the Jim Kelly days ..but look how over the years they have build a SB contending team around a HC, QB and other
elements on both sides of the ball ... only KC Chiefs stood in their path to play in SB ..

- And you know GB contended this year with a 2nd year HC ....there's always some questions about their defense rising to play championship defense - but at least they are in the NFC title game

And then where...how close or how far are we the Dallas Cowboys from finally contending for NFC title games and our very own legit SB runs .....

Avoiding the big QB contract would be a great start.

If we do that deal then we just don’t really need to even think about winning anything.
Do you really trust this FO to draft a QB better than Dak? Jerry lucked into Romo and only took Dak in the 4th because Wade Wilson pounded the table for him.

When Jerry goes to draft a QB he wants, you end up with guys like Quincy, Johnny, or Paxton.

I’ve never seen them draft a top talent QB since Aikman so I can’t say if I trust them or not.

3-4 years of smart drafting and FA acquisition. Starting w/ being strong up the middle.

If your QB is only good then you better have a great team.

It’s hard to build a great team with a good QB making great QB money.
By the way, Philly just won a title two years ago with an overpaid QB that didn’t even play in the playoffs.

Points allowed per game:

Bucs 8th in the NFL
Chiefs 9th in the NFL

You need a top 10 QB AND a top 10 defense. Trying to do it with just one of those things doesn't work, unless you're the 2000 Ravens.

Listen a team like KC isn’t perfect on D. They were like 32nd on red zone TDs. What all these teams have in common is the ability to win games or pull away by being strategically aggressive. The D may give up some plays but make some plays. The O is always pressing downfield. I also think these teams all have a buy in factor I think our #1 issue is an air of toughness! A buy in balls to the wall toughness. We are soft no matter talent. The 90s teams seem high profile flash but they were the opposite. The were nasty in the tranches snd got after you

Watching Kelce and Hill in KC made me pull a Jerry for a couple of minutes. We are so far off on our defense we might as well keep stacking stars up in our offense and just score 35 plus points a gane. TE Kyle Pitts and WR Jaylen Wadfle would be excellent additions to this team. Then we can trade Gallup for some defensive help.

But we all know our offensive skill position are not the problem. Our defense is our biggest issue. Followed closely by our offensive line. If we focus on fixing those problems we will be in the playoffs next year for sure.

But Pitts and Waddle would do wonders for this offense. Dang if you do. Dang if you don't.

I really wish you would warm up to giving him another season or two before determining he has zero shot.

I'll gladly join you if it gets to that point
