All true but if you look a little deeper, this was not KC's full offense. Both starting tackles missed the game, and Mahomes played with a toe that requires surgery. So, sure Tampa has a good defense but some of the result is KC not being healthy. Back in November, the KC offense put up 43 points on this defense.

True on those points.

BULL****!!!! Did the defense score any points? Hell no !!! Offense scored the points a great offense will beat a great defense any day!!
You have to score more points than your opponent in order to win

Throughout NFL history whenever a great offense met a great D in the SB the defense usually won.

1983 Raiders 38, Commanders 9 At the time the Commanders were the best offense the NFL has ever seen.

2000 Patriots beat the greatest show on turf.

2002 The Bucs beat the high scoring Raiders

2007 Giants held the best offense in league history to 14 points.

2013 The Seahawks beat one of, if not the best offenses in league history. Not only beat them, embarrassed them.

It doesn't happen that often anymore because there aren't any great defenses. But you can't tell me that Patrick Mahomes not having any time to throw wasn't a major factor in them getting jacked up. Hell, the Patriots had more trouble against Washington than they did against the Chiefs. To say offense beats defense every time is almost exactly the opposite of what happens.

Thank you! Exactly right!

In order to stop or stifle great QB’s you must disrupt and cause havoc at the LOS. And that’s exactly how Tampa frustrated Mahomes and the Chiefs.

And offensively Brady was almost flawless and Chiefs couldn’t cover without interfering. Tampas defense fed off of the lead their offense provided.

Again , balance wins championship . And Tampa had the greater balanced attack on both sides of the ball.

For sure, you need a balanced team. Part of the trouble the Chiefs had was that they were 1 dimensional. Had they run the ball more, I think they might have had more success.

It’s difficult to run when you’re down multiple scores. Same problem we’ve had.

Mahomes thinks you are completely off in this line of thinking.

I think to win consistently you better have both. Rodgers has been one of the top players in the league just won the MVP but has 1 ring? So what has hurt GB? Defense. Brees one of the top QB again 1 ring, what has hurt the saints? again defense. I don't think you need a to 5 defense to win but you got to have a defense who can make the big stops and take the ball away giving your offense extra possessions with the ball to score. In this past SB Tampa did what no other team has been able to do which is stop Mahomes and KC offense from scoring a single TD in the game, sacking Mahomes 3 times and forcing 2 ints. You can't win with defense only but it is hard to win when your defense is playing poorly

Just asking, is Tampa’s defense as good as the 49ers last season?

Also, just asking, did they win a ring?

Would you please, answer my question concerning the QB. You are always talking about elite QB's carry the team, I want you to be consistent. Did Rodgers eliteness, carry his team to the championship?
By the way, San Fran's defense was good enough to get them to the game, and they played well enough to win. They were top three on last year, so they qualify as good. Tampa Bay, ranked sixth, this year, so they were also good. What is your point?

Not trying to be combatant, but the job of the defense is to prevent the other team from scoring. If they get any turnovers, while doing their jobs, thats gravy. Four field goals, by Special Teams, would have won the game. KC's offense, did not score, it was their Special Teams. The KC defense, played like they were going to run it back; best two out of three.

The biggest takeaways that I got from this game was that defence still wins championships and you have to be balanced on offense. The Bucs won the Super Bowl because they played elite defence from basically start to finish, and because the Chiefs didn't run the football. Jason Pierre-Paul, Vita Vea, and Lamonte David were in Mahomes' face pretty much the entire time. They took away Tyreek Hill and basically told the Chiefs to try to beat them without Hill. The end result was 9 points. Meanwhile, the Chiefs couldn't stop the run at all, and Brady was able to rip them apart as a result. Morale of the story: play balanced offense and build this defence. If you want to have a chance, make the defence afraid of both the run and pass. On the other side of the ball, play good defence, and you'll typically win. Jerry Jones needs to build this defence this off-season so we can have a chance to compete next season.
Being great in all 3 phases wins championships.

It also doesn't hurt if the opposition is missing both of their starting Offensive Tackles.

Defense and a great defensive coordinator. Dallas defense is easy to fix if you had somebody in the organization serious about doing it! Top 10 defense is all you need with our offense. And hopefully them coming together at the right time. This how Tampa won on defense in the playoffs and to the Super Bowl. It's not rocket science here:facepalm:

I get it, but lets not get it twisted and I picked the Bucs to win, but they did get a wounded duck, not having both tackles vs a dominant OL is a death sentence for. Pressure and defensive miscues by KC defense had a lot to do with it.

If a team loses due to two players, they weren't meant to win to begin with. After all, the Egals won a Super Bowl without their starting quarterback! :p
Hope your kitty is doing great!

Lol what is your point?

I just watched Tom Brady win his 7th Super Bowl on a team that most likely doesn’t sniff the post season without him.
