Wish the Dak/QB situation would get resolved.
So tired of the drama....
the banter is not going to stop anytime soon. if we sign him to a 4 year contract lets say, the dak haters will be here after every loss blaming Dak and his contract. EVERY LOSS. and if whe leaves, then every loss and bad season will be blamed for not signing him. its Romo-debate all over again.....

Fortunately not a discussion I’ve ever had to have . Not any family members or close friends either .

The couple of divorces I do know of were after the kids were grown. And peaceful splits on the most part.
Just a joke, man!

Most thought you were a sheik buddy of Booger's.

Yeah. I was pretty optimistic about where the team was headed at the time I started posting. It was during Martin's rookie year. Funny thing is as the years have passed, as you say, the community aspect of the forum superceded the team itself. Now it's like I watch the games just so I'm not lost about what's being talked about around here.

I can't recall knowing anyone since 2010 under the age of 21 who is an NFL fan. The NFL is the WWE 30 years ago before its decline with steroids, contrived drama, bad actors, gullible fans and greed.
NFL made a big big big mistake by allowing the NO non-call. Made even the denyers start noticing that something foul was up w/ the refs. I've heard a ton of comments personally about that noncall. People are still discussing it. That should absolutely NOT have been allowed to happen. Game manipulation simply cannot be that overt.

Me too. I was a major optimist about the team. The 09 draft is what made me turn. Made what this org is doing very obvious. Not understanding football.

This probably deserves its own thread but Goodell deserves much credit for not only steering the league thru this seasons pandemic but really the most difficult era Id argue in NFL history as it continue to transcend with the times including all of the issues it’s confronted with in society.

I know he’s received criticism for his disciplinary actions but that’s a critical part of the success he’s been able to achieve overcoming theses social unrest the league and its players have encountered which has divided sone of our fans as they have walked away as a result. But he’s stayed the course . And every decision in the long run appears the right decision for the league.

But the way he handled this pandemic with strict guidelines fining HC’s for not wearing mask initially and the protocols to avoid not cancelling any games which no other league can claim is truly remarkable.

He’s going to be an early lock for HOF. And history is going to reflect generously on him perhaps before he’s done surpassing Rozelle as greatest Commish ever.

Yea, I said it here first. Ok . I’m starting a thread. Lol
Gooddell has been the best commish this league has ever had.

In her defense, that's what they brought her in to do. The mods, all of which most of us had known well before they were mods, were our posting buddies and you'd really have to push their buttons to get a time out. Remember Don and his missing mailbox? He had me rolling in the floor, I really miss him and his humor.

One off season, a bunch of us ran Rob Phillips off when his job was Topic of the Day. LMAO, we'd start in by assaulting his lame topic and go off on our own tangents. We had threads titled Bacon, What are all of these threads about bacon? (Bacon Part 2, a second helping) Random Thoughts and my favorite of all time, This thread is about nothing at all. We did 4 pages discussing what constitutes nothing before we actually began posting about nothing. It was the off season and the mods were pretty lenient and I think they got a kick out of it as much as we did. It was goofy as hell but man was it funny.

I know you came in while a lot of that was going on. Took us a couple of months to figure out your moniker was Jeremiah backwards......after you told us. Most thought you were a sheik buddy of Booger's.
I seriously thought his name was Hammer J!!!

If it wasn't for this forum, I am not sure I would even follow the team that much. Although, since I was a shut in, I did spend more time watching football this year than any other. Can't say I enjoyed it a lot though.

Was that the, "special teams," draft?
It was.

Around that time I started noticing that the guys on the site were much better at drafting than Jerry. Mike Jenkins and Felix Jones were turning out exactly as their scouting reports said they would, and still no one knows why we drafted MartyB. Trading back in the 09 draft made zero sense, but Jerry had this idea that more late draft picks were better. Really really dumb idea.

Well, the team was just so talented the draft was more about filling out the roster. Lol

I was screaming for us to trade up in that draft and just get one player. Instead, we got nothing. Butler was it, I think, and he was a pure rotational guy.

I have seen posters on both sites that would be better GM's than Booger. Then again, most people are better at a job they can be fired from.

The general idea they were selling in 09 was they didn't need a lot, just some backups and STers. They didn't even get that.

Optimists don't make good GM's. Optimists too often think their optimism is a weapon against the forces of evil. Need a guy in charge that is never satisfied, always something that needs to be fixed and never happy until he's won it all and only then happy for a day.

That is the magic of Belichick, he only allows himself to be happy when holding the trophy and even then he's looking around at who he is going to replace. It is always broken unless he wins it all.
