Does Jerry Jones really want to win a championship?

We need a brain trust that is disconnected from the front lines that has a group that knows everything there is to know about system, cap, player health and productivity.

Dallas needs a cold hard truth hand in the game. Not everyone's rich uncle.

sheesh!

Find a recent interview where Jerry said all he desired was to be 'relevant' and 'interesting'. There's your answer. Don't come to Dallas if your goal is to win championships. I think the players around the NFL figured this out years ago.
Yup. Jerry strives for personal acceptance as a football guy. Winning a super bowl is way down on his list, and he's only interested in it if means he gets personal accolades. It's frickin' sick.

@Whirlwin The GM puts the team together. The team has had enough talent and coaching to succeed. The players have failed, not the GM.

Quit looking at the GM for excuses why the players fail to execute. Yes, the GM has made some mistakes just like every other GM out there. It is the players who win or lose on the field. Jerry believed in Zeke and caved when he went to Cabo instead of camp. Zeke-lovers here mostly agreed with paying him. Jerry appeased the fans and believed in Zeke. For that, Jerry is at fault. Zeke only cares about the money. That is mostly on Zeke, who does not have the heart of a champion, and the Zeke-lovers who care more about the player than the team.

In my opinion, too many fans are quick to blame the GM and not the players. Dak, Zeke, Cooper, et al need to go out there and win a championship. Fans need to stop making excuses for the star players. The players just lack the desire and are content. It comes from within or it doesn’t come at all. Dak, Zeke, Cooper et al need to lead. They are most responsible for the culture and attitude of the team. Not the GM.
25 years of futility says you are way off in your thinking.

This is ridiculous. No one wants to win a championship more than Jerry. He just doesn't know how to win one.

You're of course very relevant if you are winning championships.
Not true. He does know how. Hire a HC like Jimmy or Tuna. And yet, he refuses to do so.

He doesn't want to win a championship badly enough to do what it takes, so there are a lot of people in NFL circles who want to win more than him.

Jerry’s wants to win ONLY if it means he did it exactly his way. If you told him “hire a GM, back away and I’ll guarantee you a championship in the next 3 years” I think he would balk. It’s the one thing I’ve never gotten about the man...he got credit for hiring Jimmy and winning whine it was happening ...he’d get credit again for doing something smart but he is too stubborn

That would be awesome but, what Jerry wants more is Brand money. He is a business man first.

There was no country club environment when Johnson was coaching. Not sure where you got that from. He would cut someone if they showed up 5 mins late. Unless they could really play.

Yeah I don’t know what he's talking about.

-----Long story short, it ain’t happening unless he changes.

Substitute the word DIES in lieu of CHANGES....he ain't changing....people need to understand that

Your definition of futility is way off.
You scapegoating Jerry is way off.
But, whatever floats your boat and helps soothe your hurt feelings.
That is one weird reply, dude. Might want to rethink those nonsensical little insult posts. They make you look pathetic, as well as indicating you lost the discussion. There's really no other reason to be so petty. Unless it floats your boat, I guess!!!!!

This is such a tired topic. It's been gone over so many times.

He will do whatever he has to do to win his way. He's not interested in winning another way.
All topics are tired. No exceptions.

The problem is the owner is the GM and the GM is incompetent.

Some fans continue to look for excuses to why their favorite players fail to produce. Blame it on the GM. Blame it on the coach. Blame it on an injury. Just don't blame it on any player. Never hold the player accountable unless it is some player making the minimum.

Plain and simple. Cowboy players did not get it done because they did not work hard enough and other teams' players wanted it more than them and worked harder.

Is that only for blame? Or does that apply to any credit?
So, the Buccaneers don't get the credit, the GM does?
Does the KC GM get the blame for the loss to the Buccaneers? Stupid GM should have traded up and drafted Wirfs. A real GM would have had a plan for 4 OL being out. Stupid GM should have told Andy Reid to run the ball. Stupid GM should have told Andy Reid to give the OTs help.

Ask any CEO and they will tell you the same thing. CEOs get way too much credit when things go right and way too much blame when things go wrong.

If the buck stops with Jerry in your mind, why even bother to watch a game? Just wait for the score and judge the GM. A win and Jerry fielded a good team, a loss and Jerry failed. 13-3 and no super bowl, well, just another fail by the GM.

Yes, the GM is responsible for putting a super bowl quality team together. Your answer of the KC GM getting the blame for injured OL's make no sense. Isn't KC a super bowl quality team? The sure do look like it to me. What's your issue w/ the KC GM here?
