Would Dak agree to a sign & trade if we include Zeke & Gallup?

Giving Dak a nonexclusive franchise tag and hoping to receive 2 1st rounders isn't ideal. Dak would most likely sign with a team like the Saints (28th overall pick) or Colts (21st overall pick). Both teams would make the playoffs again with Dak so the 2022 1st rounder won't be high either. Obviously letting Dak play out another year on the franchise tag would make it impossible to tag him the following season. The Cowboys would risk losing him without getting back any draft picks (other than a measly compensatory 3rd round pick). I would try to negotiate a sign and trade with Dak. I think including his best friend Zeke would be attractive for Dak (although the team trading for him wouldn't be thrilled but it's the price you pay for getting Dak. Example Antonio Brown to the Bucs because of Brady). Gallup is a stud but only has 1 year left on his rookie deal so throwing him in would be tough but might be necessary. The options for Dak in my order of preference:

1. Sign and Trade using the exclusive franchise tag. Include Zeke and Gallup to appease Dak and the Cowboys can save money.

2. Give Dak the nonexclusive franchise tag and get 2 1st round picks (most likely late 1st round picks)

3. Re-sign Dak to a long term contract.

4. Let Dak walk after playing under the franchise tag for 1 more season. The Cowboys would only get a compensatory 3rd round pick.

Dak has to sign the franchise tag in order to be traded. He has leverage. The Cowboys can't just use the exclusive franchise tag on him and then trade him to another team. Dak could wait to sign the tag 1 day before training camp. If it reaches that point the Cowboys are guaranteed to lose him for basically nothing.

Maybe you should just agree to root for another team.

It's like nobody has ever heard of cap..........

Zero cap hit for tagging and trading Dak. A measly $222,495 cap hit for trading Gallup with 2.38 million in cap savings. Trading Zeke would result in a $14,900,000 dead cap hit. His cap number is $13,700,000. It's definitely doable. The Cowboys would actually save 1.18 million plus another 37 million from Dak's franchise tag number. The best candidate for a trade would be the Jets. They have 73 million in salary cap space. They have the 2nd and 23rd overall picks in the 2021 draft. Plus 2 more 1st rounders in the 2022 draft. They also have Quinnen Williams.

What the hell ? Why would we do a ******* thing like that. Get rid of 3 of our best players. That’s some crackhead smit

The Jets have the 2nd and 23rd overall picks in the 2021 draft. Plus 2 more 1st rounders in the 2022 draft. Zeke is no longer that good. They would be doing us a favor by taking him. Gallup is a stud but we have Amari, Lamb, Jarwin, Shultz, and Wilson. Gallup will be expensive to re-sign. The picks + cap savings would make it worth it.

This isn’t the NBA. Players can’t just make their own teams.

Tom Brady just did. He recruited Gronk, AB, and Fournette. All 3 of those players wouldn't have signed in Tampa Bay if it wasn't for Brady.
