Romo is the greatest sports commentator ever and was a great NFL QB during his playing time.

Proud to say I'm a Tony Romo fan.

Miss you #9

I'm happy for him. He's a player who never really got his due, so it's nice to see him getting it as a commentator. His career would have turned out a lot differently if he'd ended up in New England instead of Brady. Now, I'm not saying it would have turned out as good as Brady's has (or that Romo is as good as Brady), but I firmly believe he'd have a few Super Bowl rings. Belichick is a far better football mind than any coach Romo had other than maybe Parcells, and the defenses he put together were something Romo rarely, if ever, experienced.

Not that impressed with him as a commentator.
During the Superbowl must have used the phrase "Keep it simple" at least 15 times.

Vastly overrated as a commentator. Weak voice. Spends most of his time trying to predict the next play without much regard for the overall game.
Man I’m right there with you on this RS. Romo has some broadcasting talent, but he wears me out with the constant over-explaining of two deep safeties, formations and what play is about to unfold. To me, it’s a beating, It might actually be better on radio where you can’t see the play but are dependent on description.

I actually turn the sound down when he’s on because it’s exhausting. I just want to watch the freakin game, not attend a football clinic on predicting plays. I’m a big fan of the “less is more” approach to sports broadcasting, especially on TV because I can see what just happened.

Romo’s the MAN, but if he had won Brady’s 7 rings, the Cowboys be up to 12 titles by now.

If you thought the Cowboys were hated NOW.....

Romo doesn’t do it for me.

I get that he has a lot of fans here and of course when he was a Cowboy under center I was his biggest supporter. But to me, he never lived up to his potential. Or, maybe my expectations were too high.

I was living in Philly the year that Wade took over the team. We had the best team in football. Terrell Owens was unstoppable, and Romo was tearing it up.

Philly fans were sure that Romo was about to launch the next Cowboys’ dynasty and they were suicidal. He wasn’t just killing it on the football field, there was Jessica Simpson in her pink #9 jersey up in the booth.

We were America’s Team once again and the boys were back. When the Patriots beat us in week 6 to snap our winning streak, the Cowboys’ players all said, “we’ll see you again in Super Bowl 42” and we as fans believed it.

Then it all fell apart and Romo never played that way again. He threw 36 touchdowns in 2007 and over 4200 yards. He was smashing records from both Aikman and Staubach. Then we silently slid into mediocrity.

I guess some of you will blame Jason Garrett and I can’t tell you that you’re wrong.

But on some alternate timeline, Crayton makes those catches and the Cowboys beat the Giants in the divisional round and Romo goes on to lead them over the Pats in the rematch that everyone wanted to see that year. That turns into a multi-year run of championships that we never forget.

Just not in this timeline.

Romo is the best qb to play for dallas since Roger. Already a goat at commentating and he's just starting!

At think at this point the only people that hate the Cowboys are Cowboys fans. To everyone else we're, and I quote other players, "easy money".
