Who will be the best player available at 10?

I have heard Stephen Jones state in the year Zeke was drafted, they don't usually pick in the top 10, the selection will be more about taking the best player high in the draft, not filling the biggest need. Barring any trade back, QB's not falling and Sewell off the board, who is the best player available at 10?

-Chase, Smith, Waddle
-Pitts
-Slater/Darrishaw
-Farley/Surtain
-Parsons

I do think, the best player will be an offensive player. Question is, will they stick to that mantra or reach to fill a need on the defensive side of the football? I would probably try to trade back, but if they can't have to take the best player that is available no matter what position they play.

I think Waddle and Pitts will be BPA. Both are similar calibre of prospects to me.

I agree these two prospects would be the highest rated players left on their board and are the most likely to fall to 10. If no trade can be reached, question is, do they hand in the card or reach to fill a need?

Chase / Pitts followed by Parsons (if off the field checks out).

Would be interesting if we went that way. Would be unlikely but if we moved Gallup, drafted his replacement and gained a few picks. About 1% that happens but I would be ok if that sequence played out

Think the financial aspect has to come into play as well. The team has to make a decision at WR, cannot keep all three in the fold, but still have Lamb on a controllable contract. Draft a receiver they can lock up another #1 receiver at a low rate. Other positions that cost a lot of money: Left Tackle, Corner and Pass Rusher.

We'd be better off trading Amari and extending Gallup.

But you do it next offseason.

This remains false. You can absolutely pay a QB and two WRs.

In a normal situation yes, but we are paying Zeke, Cooper, Dak, Martin top money at each position. It very unlikely Gallup returns if he gets a market level contract.

Nope. His ~$15m is easy to add.

Amari is far and away our best receiver, team gets worse if he is gone and Gallup is kept.
Team gets worse if Gallup is gone too. Amari isn't so good that he's better than Waddle and Gallup.

I don't see it, unless they get out of some of these contracts.
It's easy. You could, theoretically, extend Gallup right now.

But the cap is going to go up - way up if the league gets anything close to double on the TV deal like they're asking for

Until that happens, current cap structure makes it very difficult to keep all three receivers.
