Whatever they do, there will be no shortage of screaming, crying, stressed out hand wringing and criticism. At this point, I don’t know or care. Make a choice and live with it. My investment in the NFL sure ain’t what it used to be—the drama, greed, litigation, rule changes, entitlement, yada yada yada. This is SUPPOSED TO BE fun!
I'm getting that way about fantasy football. When I started playing years ago all the people in the league just decided on a meeting time and place, rules and maybe food. A few brought a fantasy football magazine or an internet cheat sheet, but got one of those right before the draft. Then it was good fun watching a few guys draft players on IR or cut players, etc. After that, set your lineups and play.
Now you join a league, guys show up with a laptop computer with programs that factor in team histories vs. their opponents for the season, long range weather reports, stacks of magazines, printouts of mock drafts and all bleary-eyed because they stayed up all night reviewing the last-second player deals and injuries & running different trade scenarios.
Me? I still show up with a magazine that I scanned over for a few hours in a couple of weeks before the draft.
Now fantasy football is like another job, winning means everything and losing loses you friends because they act like it's the second coming of Roger Staubach because they won....
