Jerry should just start an expansion franchise in Dallas called the Cowboys, change the name of the current Cowboys to American Football Team, and just start over with the Cowboys. He could trade the few good players from the American Football Team to the new Cowboys.

No joke, but our local board of education just voted to change the high school mascot from Cowboys to something else because Cowboys is offensive and not inclusive. How long before the Dallas Cowboys will have to do the same?

The reasons you want to trade Zeke are also the reasons no one is going to trade for him in 2021. Start with his contract and go from there.
Exactly. There are 31 other teams and not one- NONE- would accept Zeke’s contract in a trade. Unfortunately, we are saddled with that contract at least one more year. And although Dak and Zeke are good friends, in the NFL that rarely if ever determines where guys play. NBA yes- NFL- no.

I dont believe he has a no trade clause. That said I can't see any team taking on the cap hit of Dak plus Zeke. Maybe it would be different if Zeke still had his rookie pop, but he dont.

I think anyone that has followed this franchise under Jerry for any length of time understands he is infatuated with recreating the past.

He’ll give every opportunity for Dak and Zeke to be his new Aikman and Zeke for better or worse.

Yep.

2016 was awesome but it may have screwed us over for a decade.

As good as those 2 were.. The OL was the reason for the season.

Why wouldn't someone take Zeke to get Dak? Dallas would eat all the dead money remaining and the new team could cut or trade Zeke without penalty.

lol nobody but Jerry wants Zeke's contract.

Zeke is washed and lazy and on a terrible contract. Nobody would want him in his current form.
Usually players get more than one season to prove their washed-upness. Good thing we have such great supportive fans here in Dallas!

Zeke bothers people so much they can't even get their references right.

 unless you are joking.

Mix of both. lol

The number of teams that would want Dak probably wouldn't be the same amount if Zeke was added too.

Sure, Zekes signing bonus wouldn't carry over but he still carries a big cap hit and I can't see too many teams that share the pay the RB top dollar mindset while also acquiring a QB that will need a new contract while the cap ceiling caved in this year.

Like Carolina would have zero interest in adding Zeke when they got run CMC

Yes, I think he would and I would welcome it.

The problem is his contract is one of the worst in football. Who would be stupid enough to sign the Dak deal and take Zeke off our hands too? That would be great.
Any team that would take that package deal,, hell Jerry should just buy that team.
I know I posted in this thread but only in response to those I respect here,, but this is an all timer great abomination of a thread,, no offense OP, but it is the off season so what else you got.

I had two weeks of vacation so simple boredom is my excuse,, wish I had some grass to mow,, but two feet of snow instead to stare at.
I’ll take that trade any day, especially when the temps start getting in the 90’s-100’s this summer.

Zekes base contract numbers are not even close to out of line for a top performing RB since Dallas takes the signing bonus hit. A team is only on the hook for 1 year, 9.6 million. His contract would not hamper a trade at all.

I realize Zeke did not have an awesome year. I also would not have given in to a new contract for Zeke.

On the other hand, I really don’t get the chagrin over Zeke’s contract. Tank, Jaylon and maybe even a few others deserve way more chagrin than Zeke’s does.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility that he will lead the league again in rushing next year if we fix the OL and give him the ball.

Yeah. They don’t want to hear facts. They prefer to ride on pure emotion. Facts just get in the way.

But he’s not top performing.
