the green is his motivation. PERIOD. Love of the game and winning isn't job 1 to them. Its a different type of mindset in todays players.

No doubt money is important but I have watched Watt from Day 1 in Houston and the man has given his all and his body has taken the toll. I think that is a bit unfair claiming all he cares about is money

I like him but DE I don't see that as a big need area for Dallas. DT yes very much a need. I think FA is where you look to fill in need and use the draft to look for BPA that fills need be it todays need or need within the next 2 years. I clearly do not see Dallas wanting to pay the money they do for DLaw and then pay avg of 15 mill for Watt while also have Gregory in the fold.

And Cowboys fans react by scoffing at the terms of the deal while another team improves, or at least tries to improve while we do what we do.
Lol, exactly. I’ve brought this up several times. Fans complain of Jerry and Stephen being cheap, not signing big FA’s, etc but based on the responses to almost every FA signing around the league those same fans are just as bad as the Jones.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team sign a big FA where the majority of this fan base didn’t make fun of them while simultaneously complaining about the Cowboys not being players with big FA’s. I don’t know if they’re just delusional or jealous of the other teams. In the meantime we had lots of fans applauding the zeke contract, the jaylon contract and letting Jones walk.

What’s even more funny is that almost every team who make these deals ends up being better than the Cowboys.

No state income tax in Arizona? Can get a bonzo house in the desert for $2.5-3m, what’s not to like?

This is the type of deals the cowboys need in FA to fix the defense . But the dak deal and cap hit expected is paralyzing this team . Cowboys don’t have a problem at QB that needs a 40 mil cap hit . Dak is not that type of difference maker ( 6-11 in his last 17 starts ) They need to fix the defense and shore up the OL . If the defense is not fixed with FA signings , expect another 8-8 cycle with dak and a bad defense .

unlikely team and fit. I am surprised. Then again, its always about the green. He went for the money. ZONA was fleeced. Good for him I guess.
JJ Watt has a lot of pride. He is a 3 time defensive player of the year. He will be highly motivated to show his brother is not the best football player in the family. He will work his butt off.
I would not say Arizona was fleeced, not yet anyway. I’ll give a 3 time Defensive MVP the benefit of the doubt.

at an avg of 15.5 mill per year which puts Watt in the top 10 for DE, are you paying for past memories or what he brings to the table today? I wish the best for Watt, I think he has been a class act in the Houston area but given the injuries and age I think Cards did overpay on this deal.
