I don’t know why I bother. You’re not able to comprehend. The meaning of winning. As a team. Is the franchise the ownership that holds us back not the men in the field
Actually your partially correct. This team has and has had good players the past 15 yrs. The main problem is ownership hiring garbage coaching. MM is not the answer. he had a losing record with Aaron Rodgers in his last yr as coach there and Arod has gone to 2 consecutive champ games.

The highest paid QBs in NFL history now stack up like this: Lol
1. Patrick Mahomes: $45M/year
2. Dak Prescott: $40M/year
3. Deshaun Watson: $39M/year
4. Russell Wilson: $35M/year
and that will change as the young elite qb's in the league get paid in time: Allen, Jackson, Russ (new contract coming I bet), Watson (once traded or resigns in HOU)etc. Won't look so bad in a couple of years as long as he performs

I have been a fan of this team this franchise before Roger Staubach I know who owns and runs the team. And I also understand why we win or lose games. Emotions yes that’s what the NFL is emotional.

Excuses on your part. I’ve been a fan for many years but that doesn’t neglect the issues on the team. And you missed the point about emotions because I clearly stated you were being that due to not thinking this through.

I don't like the no trade. Constrains the Cowboys in looking for a replacement. Yeah, they can draft whoever they want, but they can't unload Dak and his contract if they find a starting quality QB, so finding someone is less valuable, and therefore less likely to be done.

They've kicked the can down the road, and will be in a worse no option scenario 4 years from now.

Having said that, the money is fine to me. Getting Dak to sign *prior* to any new tv becoming official is a big deal. The wage scale is going way up.

The Dak Cap Hit, starting from his 4th year when the discussion started about extending him, is 2mil, 32mil, 41milx4years.
We end up with 6 years, and *didn't* pay him free agent money in year 4. Only guaranteed multiple seasons of pay *after* his leap in performance between 2018 and 2019.
Everyone moaning over how Jerry "blew it" in 2018 should do the math on both the cost and the risk alternative scenarios would have brought. 6 years was just not an option in 2018, nor 5 in 2020.

Next contract - Randy Gregory. Maybe they do others. Lock in players while *this* year they still face a big free agent cap squeeze, driving down the market, and *before* the new tv contracts flip that to a huge boost in cap.

It’s the franchise it’s holding us back. Make no mistake about that it’s not Prescott I don’t have to think it through I live it this is the NFL.

Well that makes a huge difference but then I'm sure it's more than 160 million

What they did, if they did it, is add a voidable year. It allows the team to spread out the signing bonus over 5 years instead of 4. I'm not sure why they would have two voidable years since the max to spread out bonus is 5. It won't be more than 160, you'll just have dead money at the end.

It's a 6 year deal with 2 voidable years. This is not a 4 year commitment, it's a parlay into a 10 year commitment.

That seems unusual given that you can only spread out a signing bonus over the course of 5 years. Having the 5th year be voidable makes sense for that reason but not a 6th.

If its a 6 year deal with 2 void years the cap is actually 147mil over 4 years. ~12~13mil dead in 5th year unless extension.
