Dak to Stephen: “I want $33 million/year”

Stephen to Dak: “oh no Dak, we want you at $45 million/year”

Dak to Stephen: “let’s compromise at $37 million/year”

Stephen to Dak: “absolutely not! I insist on paying you $40 million/year”

Dak: “okay fine” *shakes Stephen’s hand*

is any front office worse than the Dallas Cowboys’? Dak literally got everything he could ask for. Wow.

I’m happy for Dak, but dang. What “negotiations” were being had?

The no tag clause is the biggest deal in this contract for Dak. It basically gives him 100% of leverage when the next contract comes up because he is free to walk if they dont meet his number.

So if I'm doing the numbers right, Dak is getting $75mn this season, + $66mn due at signing. That is $141mn this year.

Is his cap hit only like ~10mn for each of the other 3 years??

Nope. Mostly signing bonus money spread out over 5 years. So we're looking at 13 million dollar cap hits per year just from the bonus alone.

1-3 actually, Dalton secured the win in the game he went out in.
You’re not really comparing Andy Dalton to Prescott are you. I just won’t be able to take anything you say serious after that if you are
