I'm not a trade down guy. I hardly ever advocate trading down does much good. My view is simple. You are trading away from the talent. Two good players do not equate to one great player in my book.

However, this year may be differe3nt. Primarily the comp picks and selecting in the top ten of each round.

So the question is. Can anyone offer a trade down situation for the 10th over-all? List the trade parameters. Who receives what? And what Dallas could expect to draft in the first.

I appreciate you putting thought into this.

The trade opportunities are mostly dependent on the QB's and if any of the top 4 fall to 10. A team is usually willing to offer more for a QB.

My interest is in what player(s) fall to 10 because of the QB draft and so many teams in the hunt? Is there a probability that we can get a top 5 at 10 as we got a top 10 at 17 last draft.

This is not considered a D draft but there are some prospects that fit this team's needs and Quinn knows the value of the secondary and pairing Farley or Surtain with Diggs would be hard to trade out of, unless they just dropped a spot or 2.

Trading down is a tricky proposition and it depends on how they have their needs board set up. If the move down isn't too sharp and there are several players there for the taking, I could see them doing it because they need numbers.

I think the value Dallas would get back is a lot less than some might think, but there are a bunch of teams who could move up. If you just go by the trade value chart, pick 10 is 1300 points.

San Fran - Pick 12 (1200), 102 (92), 117 (60)
NE - Pick 15 (1050), 96 (116), 120 (54)
Chicago - Pick 20 (850), 52 (380), 164 (25)
Pitt - Pick 24 (740), 2022 First

Teams like Chicago and Pitt would probably have to give up next year's first to get a QB, otherwise I don't think they'll move up that far. But you could pick almost any team from 12-20 and make a case for them moving up. Basically costs their first, a third, and a 4th.

If Surtain and Slater are gone I've been trading down to around 15-20 with the Bears, Dolphins, and Patriots and adding a second and sometimes another later pick. That puts you in the range of Horn CB, maybe Barmore the top DT, and some of the ofeensive lineman like Jenkins G/T, Vera-Tucker G/T, and maybe Darrisaw T.

This trade down is an exact match: 25, 33 from Jax for pick #10.

I don't see Dallas trading down at all. I see Dallas setting there and selecting either Farley or Surtain

That's a long way to drop. But you also have control of two guys on a 5 year deal.

If I dropped that far, I would want their second round pick as well to do that deal..

They may do that, but I don't think that will be their preference. I don't think you will see a CB at 10.

This right here. My #1 trade-down target is DT Christian Barmore. We can still fill the cornerback spot in the 2nd round. Really have room to fill lots of positions on defense with this route.

It's an exact match and it would be a deal to secure 1 of the 2 top safeties in the process. 33 is actually in rd 2.

He's really the difference maker in the middle. Levi and Daviyon wouldn't be bad but Barmore is ranked 13th overall according to the nfl draft grades and they are 30th and 49th. After those three there's a big drop off..

Love Barmore in the first in a trade down.....anywere from 12-20. If we don't land him my focus goes to Daviyon in the second. We need to get a push in the middle!

I just hope the pass catchers go early. It sounds like they would take one of them (maybe Pitts) over Surtain.

If I could get CB Horn and another top 50 pick by moving down, I’d be happy to miss Farley and Surtain. I think Horn will be very successful.

Could see that if Pitts is there.
Eh, I don't think I see Jacksonville doing that. With a talent like Lawrence, you're probably better off going tackle at 25, say Mayfield, and then WR at 33, say Moore. Or vice versa, Bateman at 25 and Little at 33.

Either way, I'm not trading those two guys for Pitts, I don't think.

It depends on what the Cowboys think of the safeties. They could trade 2,3, and 4th com and get back to the end of the first round as well. I would want two players under control for 5 seasons.

I would do that in a second in this draft.

Not a big fan of the top 10 this year.

You'd end up with two useful players where we need them instead of having to reach (OT, WR, CB) at 10 because of BPA.

Not sure who Jax is coming up for....maybe Pitts or Slater.....but if they offered that, its accept immediately.

A Brady gronk combo for 5yrs guaranteed does it for me
