Fish: Farley believed 1 defender on DC board

Farley is not a solid tackler. He also played against inferior talent compared to Surtain III.

Frankly, I have looked at quite a few drafts and there is a growing consensus Pitts drops to 10. Some say Dallas passes, Others don't.

My belief is it comes down to three players.

Slater - the reup of Smith perhaps dismisses this idea. Although Slater can play guard, and that is intriguing.
Surtain III - his foot speed is still a mystery. But he seems to latch onto the receiver and follow him all over the field.
Pitts - If this kid falls to Dallas (I think Philly will take him) this is the pick.

Reasoning:

Pitts is a premiere player at a position which challenges the linebackers and safeties. I'm not certain they can handle him.
There will still be 10 draft picks to be used on defense.
Dallas has freed up enough money to sign a couple of defenders in FA.

Just my opinion.

Well I just waxed poetic about a guy and then read in another thread that a poll of team sources viewed him as very overrated.

I know nothing, I'm just here lol

TE? hell to the no. This team needs help on defense and one of the two best CBs will be there at ten. Defense needs to start making key stops and/or turnovers or Dallas ain't going nowhere. FS also needs attention. Only one football to go around and Dallas has enough receivers already, Jarwin and Schultz can man the TE position.
LOL I love Schultz and Jarwin but Pitts is a stud.

If Dallas had to choose today, he believes their top CB and indeed top defender is Caleb Farley.

He cites Farley's speed and length and Diggs' lack of burner speed as big reasons why.

do not be shocked to also see Dallas cover their *** and draft Elhinger the QB from Texas in round 3. MM loves QB's. We can groom him in case Dak leaves after this deal expires. Brevin Jordan is another guy to watch for . As far as Farley at 10..I rather have the well rounded corner than him. Give me Surtain. We can find guys similar to Farley later..ie LIKE MOLDEN.

There's not a defensive player in this draft Worth passing up Kyle Pitts for.
Agree actually with that. If hes there, my God Jerry will be kicking himself for a decade like when he passed Moss and took Lafleur. Hes a generational talent.Gotta take him.

I want defense as well, but more so I want talent with our first pick. I think you're right that one of the top 2 CBS will fall right in our laps.

Pitts in the red zone would be automatic..all you need to do is throw the ball up and let him either draw the PI or catch the TD. I think we should use alot of 3 tightend packages in the passing game, like when New England had Gronk.Hernandez etc..Who do ya defend? lol

Farley and Diggs would be the best pair we’ve had in a good while

Farley is absolutely best case scenario at 10

The good news is that best case scenario has a great chance at happening

I do believe Farley will be the team's #1 defensive player on their board, but it doesn't mean they will draft him. I get this sneaky suspicion that Pitts will be their #1 target, followed by Farley, then Slater.

Gotta say, I agree with Fisher on this. I think Farley should be the preferred pick for Dallas as their CB. I have my doubts that Surtain could keep up with the speediest NFL WRs in the deep routes. It remains to be seen, of course but that contention has solid merit, imho.
Don’t worry our vaunted pass rush will get to the qb before ball will be in the qb hands, lol.

Actually I hoping Farley is the pick.

I agree with you. I believe Denver will pick him before us.

Maybe Dallas can trade their 1st and 3rd round comp pick to Carolina for the #8 pick and take Farley ahead of Denver. I'd feel better about that then taking Surtain at 10.
