And to add, lack of blueprint or plan. We just draft willynilly w/ hope that the player will just somehow magically fit in.
If he doesn't, what happens?

Have you ever seen more coverage for a team that is 14-18 in it's last two seasons?

This all became a moot point the minute he got the Big Top. From that moment on, he was bulletproof. The team is 103-89 since opening that stadium and hasn't played in a meaningful playoff game yet they've doubled in value from that time and led the NFL in profit every year.

We all watch the game but not the one Booger plays.

If you dig deeper, it becomes blatantly obvious that the problems are primarily due to the man who makes all the decisions. Jerry hired JG. It was here before JG took over.
I didn't see it with Parcells Era which makes me lean heavier with JGeezy not that Jerry is without blame.

Thank you. It’s Jerry and his yesman and women. Winning a SB is not even on their top 10 to do list.
I will once again disagree with this notion...they don;t want to win a super bowl?

Inane nonsense! You are just trying to sound cool and in the know.

Now...if you say "they don't know how to win a super bowl or even make a run at it".

That would make sense. A super Bowl would make them WAY more relevant and richer. Which I bet you'd hastily agree are on their top 10 to do list.

The reason the Jets and Jaguars spend more in FA is because they don’t draft well and there is a salary cap floor. They don’t have to spend as much to keep the players they want, and in turn have to spend more on free agents. It’s a feedback loop that is reinforced by having to spend more on free agents, which are generally overpriced.

Come on sir, they don't want to win a SB. To make it even more real, they don't care to even compete for a SB. They are what we would call (a school example) kids who had no motivation to work hard because they have the silver spoon in their mouth.
They have the history of 3 SB's, Jerry wants to only win if he is personally responsible. No one else can get the credit. To this day this insane man will not give Jimmy credit for what he did.
I think Bill Walsh said.. you are really only competing for 7-8 teams a year who are trying to win a SB.

I agree that Jerry does not know how to win or even make a run at winning. In all honesty winning a SB for Jerry Jones is like George Washington knowing what a Apple Iphone 12 max is. Jerry just wants to stay relevant. He does not want the team to go 3-13 and be flexed out of prime time games, he wants them to be in the conversation.
I standby statement that winning a SB is not even in the top 10 of what he wants to accomplish every year. He has been there done that. The team has endless demand because the league continues to grow, the gap between the NFL and other leagues is cavernous.
MLB is done as a national past time. Local fans care about their team, no real nationwide passion. That era is over.
The NBA is more innovative but will never have the mass appeal of the NFL. There are many social and race related reasons why.. will not broach that subject as we are not allowed to have difficult conversations on this board.
NHL... enough said
Live sports, especially the NFL is what all the networks are about.

Jerry is the fat cat of the league, the other owners like him because let him be the bad brash guy. He has done good in the 90's with all the maverick individual team deals and licensing. If he ever gets caught up in any off putting behavior or something stupid the would ban him in an instant. He is the useful idiot of the league.
Again I am ranting.. Jerry's legacy is set in stone, HOF'r, 3 SB's, money means nothing to him.
Stay on the front page, if by some miracle a Patrick Mahomes falls in our lap we will compete for a SB, otherwise go about your business as usual. Every year just be .500 and move on.

And the Rangers have won two AL pennants since the Cowboys last won a divisional playoff game, much less an NFC championship. The Mavs and Stars have both won championships and appeared in championship series 5 times between them since Cowboys last SB.

If we’re being honest, the Cowboys are the least successful team in the DFW area in the 21st century. They are living off their massive popularity and financial clout, not any on field results.
The Cowboys are the Kardashians of the NFL.

That's the only reason they're still a big deal.

There are multiple Texas High school football teams in the last 10 years who have individually played and won more playoff games in AT&T Stayjum than the Cowboys.

Starts with Jerry and Stephen. Then of course it's varied. These 2 made a lot of stupid decisions that snowballed into 25 years of ineptitude. It's a very long list.

To @Star-Fan some folks just like to complain. It’s all they do no matter the subject. Just look at the Signing threads and you’ll see the same posters like this one always whining. Always. It’s their character. They just can’t help it because they think it’s just normal. They keep throwing out the lame “it’s been 26 years of failures” thinking that because of that there will be 26 more years of failure. That’s non-sense.

Your funny! The truth is painful. History may not always repeat but it does rhyme. Jerry just gets an excuse from the media. He has bungled the last 26 years. I am guessing the over record since the last SB is darn close to .500. Jerry has found a way to not kill the golden goose of the Cowboys.
Win just enough games to stay relevant, stir up enough controversy. I think he really tried to win in the early years of Jimmy getting let go.
He traded two firsts for Galloway, he got Roy Williams, he hired Chan to appease Troy, he hired Parcells

Lol.. I cannot believe my lovable, respected franchise has become the bu77 of jokes. All serious football people know this FO and organization is a joke. Real football people dont take this team seriously.
The Media heads love the Cowboys... I remember back before the 1992 SB, Jerry was being interviewed at 11 EST on westwood one radio, I was in high school and the person stated the Cowboy were the most loved and most hated football team. Jerry just came back talking about passion and winning. At that time he was a hungry owner, and the league hated him because he was so different and innovative with Jimmy. Going on the sidelines, yucking it up players. Man how things have changed.. Almost like that book Animal Farm... he came in as a disruptor an he has just become part of the problem. He is fat and happy, and should really sell the team.
He does not have the best interest of the league or the Cowboys. Bezos should just offer him 7 billion dollars to go, statue on the front of the stadium. Leave with your head high. Heck even let him be a minority owner. There are some 30 year old's who grew up in their formative years who never saw any success, and now might be married and have kids...
We are not the Lions, Bengals, WFT. We haven't made a championship game this century...

We agree actually. I’ve said many times Jerry has bungled the last 26 years. Can’t argue that. But that doesn’t mean this year will be the same. MM is really in his 1st year due to Covid. The defense can’t get any worse and now theres a new defensive coaching staff. All those players who suffered critical injuries will be back. Just signed the #3 rated run stopper in the NFL. The other guy had 32 QB pressures last year. And free agency has just started. And oh yeah, theres the draft coming up. So I understand better than most that some people are inclined to give up easily. To quit. Trust me, I’ve seen it play out in the field. I don’t like those folks. They’re dangerous.

Yeah. But don't you just love that stadium?
That stadium will stay in fashion another 15 years, right?
And as long as we have Dak, and his $40,000,000.00 per, anything is possible.
.
Dak better produce, or else Jerry will be forced to pay him another $160,000,000.00.

Our Cowboys have won 3 playoff games at AT&T since it opened in 2009. Since 2009, there are many HS teams in the area that won more playoff games at AT&T. Aledo High School for example, has won 7 or 8 state championships on that field since it opened, and several more other playoff games there. Translation: the Cowboys haven’t fared as well at AT&T as some high schools in the area.

So does that mean the Cowboys have no chance going forward? I don’t get it. Seems like a Debbie Downer statement. One of which we have way to many of. So past performance dictates future success? Jeez, even the mods are going downhill here.

I didn’t say that Rock. I was merely answering your question, “What are you trying to say?” I didn’t say they will never win there again, lol. Sure they can. They just haven’t done much in a while. Doesn’t mean they can’t ever again.
