I've mentioned this before, Edge could be a big priority

He was impressive rushing standing up last season. I thought he could do but was surprised by how natural he looked. But can you play him at SAM like a Bruce Irvin?

I wouldn’t want to...Irvin played the Leo role not SAM.

Ojulari would play a RE type role.

Phillips is a top 5 talent with a scary injury history. That being said he is literally perfect for Jerry Jones in round 2. And I’m ashamed of myself for saying so but I would be ecstatic if we drafted Jaelan Phillips outside of round 1.

Top 5 talent? ticking time bomb for injuries/coming off injuries? Available in the 2nd round?
You had me sold at top 5 talent, sign him up. We're due to hit this time!!!

Last year the front office was set on drafting Chassion from LSU, until Lamb fall in their laps and was too good to pass on. It looks like something is going on behind the scenes with Aldon Smith and I don't think he is returning. Team just signed Basham at the position, but don't have much proven depth at the position.

When we look at all the players they interviewed with at the senior bowl, it was littered with Edge rushers.

Don't think there is a pass rusher worthy of the 10th overall pick, but at 44 could be a sweet spot to draft one:

-Phillips, Ossai, Basham, Perkins, Oweh, Tyron

Not really ....on one side you have Basham and Gregory rotating and opposite side Lawrence and another

They need a legitimate 3rd rusher, Basham is going to be more of a run defender, who knows what we have in Anae and Armstrong is a JAG.

Gregory is the Leo for sure. Many think Basham was used right as a stand-up rusher, so I don't think he will be playing that role.

I watched the updates with Broddus and his crew....Hellman....BUcky Brooks they were saying Basham wasn't used
correctly with the jets they had him standing up and hes much better with his hand on the ground. They mentioned
he will probably play DE rotate with Gregory and will do a very good job high motor guy.

I'm warming up to Jaelan Phillips... yes he's a risk, but he may be the best DE in this class. What got me was Mosher pointing out just how many different ways he wins... bull rushes, spins, counters, swipes, pure downhill speed, he can do it all. I watched the tape a little less critically and was like "yeah, this guy wins often", but the sheer diversity in how he can beat dudes is unmatched this year.

I'm also on board the Rousseau train, and think his feet + length are going to be an unblockable combo if he learns to fully harness them. But there's a little projection there. He wrecked in college, but in ways that may not immediately translate to the league. Phillips wrecked at the U too, and is ready to play right now.

I like Phillips too, but at 44. He is risky, but could be the best pass rusher in the entire class.

I said that I was sick of 2nd round swing-for-the-fences gambles, but now I'm starting to talk myself into him.

We need a legitimate #3 Edge rusher, especially if Aldon isn't expected back. Throw in, Gregory is a fa next yr, makes a lot of sense. He is most likely a top 10-15 prospect without the injury concerns.

In your estimation, what is the difference between a LEO and a "stand-up rusher?"

Basham is like 250lbs and long, he's tailor-made to be a LEO, because the LEO is passrushing on basically every snap and isn't asked to line head-up against OL. It's basically what he did for NYJ.
