Which positions can we get plug and play starters?

We are in the midst of fa, this is subject to change based on any new signings:

Corner-I believe a high draft pick would have the inside track to start over Brown day 1.
Safety-even if Hooker/Kazee are signed, there is an excellent chance a safety prospect can play right away
Linebacker-right now, team just has 2 legitimate starters, with 1 hybrid.
1T DT-not too hard to beat out A. Woods to start at the position.
G/C-Connor Williams is a fa in 2022, who know what we have in Biaz.

If we do sign a veteran CB starter, we will most likely not draft the position at 10. If we look at the obvious positions, Surtain, Parsons, Slater all make sense at 10.

G / Pitts / LBr is probably about it. Rookie DBs usually get roasted and I don’t know if there is a DT that will come in and be an upgrade year 1. Not a great class.

Obviously if dudes develop than sure the other positions have a shot.

I think Slater would be a big upgrade over Connor Williams, if he starts inside.

Interesting questions but I'm not sure it matters coz to keep C Williams after this year means giving him a long-term deal OR franchise tag. At this time, I don't the FO doing either one, which is probably why you draft Slater at 10 if he's there.

But you still have Conner McGovern so I just don't see it "unless" you have Slater rated right now well above CWill and CMcGovern, because I don't see him taking Martin or the OT or even the C position. Adding another high priced OL doesn't seem to be the best answer, IMO. And giving CWill a long term contract isn't necessarily a bad thing if it isn't one of the top paid ones.

Right. With the emergence of McGovern it would be a waste of a pick. Plus the fact that Philbin has proven he can coach em’ up unlike previous regimes.

Slater is a blue chip prospect that should be drafted within the top 12, Connor has shown to be a solid starter, probably would be a 3rd rd prospect in this class.

I think their are 4 main targets at 10: Pitts, Slater, Parsons and Surtain. All are plug and play, impact day 1 starters.

I don’t think there is any way Pitts drops to 10. Replace Pitts with Waddle and I think he Slater, And Surtain are what we could be looking at.

I’d be happy with anyone except Surtain. With the recent news on Farley, there isn’t a CB in this class I’d take at 10.

I'm not the biggest fan of Surtain either, but I think he is the odds on favorite to be the pick at 10. My preference is Slater or Parsons, even Pitts even he slid to 10.
