I’ve always found it odd but I ignore the term and the yearly debates to who should replace us as America’s team.
when the media says America team who are the referring to?
That's why I don't like the term. Other teams always have extra motivation to beat the Cowboys. All that nickname did was paint a target on the Cowboys backs and give opponents extra motivation to beat them.
The team has been swirling the toilet bowl the past 25+ years, just like the country. So the moniker fits.
I’ve stated before I never liked it as well. Just puts a target on their backs. Pisses off the opponent’s.Americas Team... Never liked it. Yes or No

Yep, every team wants to play a bit harder against the Cowboys.I’ve stated before I never liked it as well. Just puts a target on their backs. Pisses off the opponent’s.

Not to mention in today's world the name gets to the players heads and they become too flamboyant and it distracts them staying focused on their game play. Then they also get involved in all sorts of off field activities that is non-conductive to being a pro sportsperson or good roll model.
I wish Jerry and company would get rid of players who run afoul of the law or are a detriment to the team. It worked well for Tom Landry and Don Shula. Distractions are bad for the team. Problems in the locker room spill over onto the field.Hmmmm, sounds very familiar, i can't put my finger on it. The "extra-curricular" activities don't bother me as much as the staying focus on the field. This team does get distracted and it goes to their head, the SB Cowboys in the 90's, once they stepped on the field, it was game time. Never mind all that they did off the field, which was worse than this team does. Just a different breed of players. But you are right, with social media, today's players seem to care what fans think of them. And even respond to negative comments.
The current SB winner.I’ve always found it odd but I ignore the term and the yearly debates to who should replace us as America’s team.
I don’t remember who that is.The current SB winner.
