Why is Sean Lee still on the roster?

Cowboys need depth and STs contribution from the LB spot, so re-signing Lee doesn't make a lot of sense imo... it's time.

I saw a few days ago the Cowboys were in negotiations with Lee. I have no idea why because he has declined to the point where even when healthy which is rare he isnt good enough to be a starter. I like Lee but every player reaches a point when they should retire and dont realize it yet. Thats Lee!! Too many young hungry LBs could replace him at this point in his career.

at the vet minimum with incentives with playig time and be simply a role player when needed, i dont see an issue..make all his pay past Vet MIn only achievable by playing time and stats etc if they limit him a ton and use him wisely im betting he can help out and in the end a transition to on field player/coach..

im good either way, let the man go out on his own terms as long as its not taking a spot from another BETTER player..hes better then Joe Thomas is he not how many snaps di thomas get last season..??

so when Heath, MCollins, and Witt quickly got on other roster's as well as other players ,AND Coaches BTW, this fan base said can't play and were done, hows that different? get over it has nothing to do with loyalty ..if this were truly tthe case Romo would have got his job back in 2016 and played in the playoffs, Jerry does listen to coaches who BTW know more then us and if they believe player can contribute in some way, well thats how it is..

Why complain about something that isn't true? You could ask why they would consider bringing him back but as of now he is a free agent who could sign with any team.

The football high IQ is there in the cerebral sense but physically there's an ever growing signs that
he cannot run anymore. even spots, areas and plays that he used to anticipate and react and easily get to ..(while or before they develop) more and more
he's getting there late or not at al because he physically cannot always shed blocks quickly, knife thru traffic and make the play.

And then there's always the injury element . He got hurt with the hernia even before camp even started and missed most of the season.

As Crawford heads into retirement, the jury is out on if Lee will join him. Lee continues to work through the decision process & is in discussion w/the FO on his future, but MM noted Crawford will remain an integral part of the team going forward in other capacities hinting at the obviousness of the same path being open to Lee.

It's very hard for some players, especially the elite, to call it quits. They will however when their bodies tell them to. As the case for Crawford & unfortunately, for Sean as well.
