Surtain/Horn-replaces Anthony Brown as the outside starter.
Slater-replaces Connor Williams at Guard or Biaz at Center. Could replace Tyron down the line
Pitts (unlikely he will be available)-replaces Jarwin. Would be #2 or #3 passing option.
Parsons-most likely pushes Neal to the bench or SS and plays the strong-side role
Smith/Waddle-joins a crowded group, can everyone get enough targets?

If we keep a healthy OL for 16 games plus the postseason CB, one injury to our OL (like that would ever happen) OL The bigs make our offense go.

Why do people keep assuming Slater replaces Smith down the line? There are some analysts/scouts who aren’t sure he’s an OT in the NFL.

So should we use the 10th pick in a guy who might be better served being just an OG?
Many believe Slater is very similar to Zach Martin in which whatever position he plays along the line, he will be very good. We saw Martin play Right Tackle last year and instantly performed well. Slater just tested out extremely well, his length is just came a little under the threshold. Many believe he is an excellent fit in a zone block scheme, which we run. He is a legit blue chip prospect, where many don't think he will even be there at 10.

to me its Slater.he can save our Oline which has a lot of players whose health is iffy at best,we dont have to worry about backup Tackle or backup guard giving us poor play.
Slater gives the team options and strengthens the unit to elite levels. We know Connor Williams is an average starter, Tyron struggles to stay healthy and Biaz might be the same. You can play Slater anywhere where you need him.

Patrick Surtain Jr.... Cowboys have Pro Bowlers at OT that simply needs to just stay healthy. While at CB, there's a fringe starter holding that spot.
I think we can make a strong argument for either corner or OL. LB should be in the mix, but it's not a high valued position.

My draft overview is this. I think Quinn wants big tall rangy linebackers and db's. I think the draft will bear this out. Surtain would be the target at 10 unless Pitts is there. He is a generational talent like Moss was. Jerry wont make that same mistake twice. He will be a Cowboy. Other than that, I see a guy like Deablo, Grant to be the targets in round 2 on. He wants the D to play fast and instinctive. We already have 2 quick ballers in Kazee and Lewis to mix in, so I expect we wanna get big and physical. The days of finesse are gone guys. Quinn wont tolerate that. He wants guys that have 1 job to do and thats THEIR OWN JOB. No more hero ball. Jaylon and LVE better get onboard or they wont be here long. We have some pieces, but Quinn will find starters and difference makers.

Parsons. He's a freak of nature and has all the traits to be a perennial all pro.

An O player won't appreciably make our team better.
I'm trying hard to like him. Will he play team ball? Will he live up to that 10 pick? That pick has to be elite IMO. We cannot afford to gamble. If Quinn is sold on him, I'm good. I trust him. The kid better understand what he needs to do to fit in. I would like to see him become an alpha and lead the LB group. That pick demands that. ANYTHING else is a failure.

Personally, I think signing KJ Wright makes more sense than drafting Parsons. OR Drafting KJ BRITT. I think Britt in round 3 would be a steal. The kid is an alpha...a thumper in the middle and most of all, a team leader. Not sure Parsons is that just yet.

Parsons might turn out to be the best player in this draft. He's the complete package. I'll be shocked if he slips to us. We're talking an even faster Urlacher here.

I think Surtain is the guy unless Pitts, Chase or Sewell are available. I think the expectations with this pick is unrealistic. This draft has very few elite talents. I’m okay with Surtain just being a very good player. I do think Quinn’s system will play to his strengths.
