My thoughts is if you can't get Pitts then the TE position should be ignored unless one happens to be there to justify the pick

Take it for what it's worth.
This article could be totally bogus.

Tight end is not thought to be a major area of concern for the Dallas Cowboys. With that said, many fans have dreamed of the possibility of the Cowboys drafting Kyle Pitts at 10th overall. Pitts is an elite level prospect that is ranked as high as second the best player in the entire 2021 NFL Draft class by Daniel Jeremiah.

Brevin Jordan has said he’s met with the Cowboys more than a few times.

I like the kids game, athletic, good hands and very good after the catch.
OK at the POA, needs more work as an inline TE but woukd add another dimension to this offense imo

Okay, so we're considering taking a TE with one of our 3rd round picks. That's interesting. It makes sense, given Schultz's last year. We might not be able to resign him. Plus we're still not sure what we have in Jarwin.

I really hope we do the right things in free agency to allow us to take Pitts if he falls. I doubt he will, but I at least want to be that good going into the draft.

I like the player, don't know if I like the 3rd round price tag.

In an offense that doesn't feature tight ends, a 3rd rounder is starter kind of draft capital. That's basically saying that we intend to cut Jarwin and wave farewell to Schultz after this season just to get Jordan on the field in 2022. On the flip side, a 3rd round FS only has to compete with Kazee for immediate snaps here.

He’s very good and underutilized. Great blocker that would be the perfect for the H-back role we like to run out of the backfield.
I think he is a great name to think about in the 3rd. He is probably as good or better than Shultz right now, and he is only 20.

Shultz is ok, but he is basically a slightly better version of Old Man Witten. Dont really want to give him a 2nd contract.

Neither one of those guys are guys I cant live without. Do you really want to give Schultz a second contract? He is a nice player and all, but he is pretty limited. We feature a TE enough for him to catch 60 passes, and he can pull them down, but he isnt any kind of down field threat.
