I like Surtain. But, I wouldn't mind seeing someone really coveted fall to 10 and give us an opportunity to pick up a couple of firsts...or a first and two seconds. We also need some stars. But we also need numbers.

Nobody's big board is the same, there's a handful of people you could realistically take at 10 and likely be fine. Individual ordering is largely personal preference.

Couple of things, the Dallas offense will be top 5 with the OL and Prescott staying healthy. It doesn't matter how great Pitts or any other offensive player is, it won't help the offense improve. The TE is the 4th or 5th option, and Dallas has Schultz and Jarwin. The cupboard is not empty.

The first three picks have to be defense. Give me Surtain or Horn, then Holland or Grant, followed by McNeill or Shelvin.

After that have at it if you want offense.

Pitts would not be the 4th or 5th option, Jarwin and Shultz might be but not Pitts, he is a mach up nightmare that make the other players more open. You can fill CB, FS, DL and LB with your other top 115 picks.

Not going to happen thought Pitts never makes it to 10.

That makes sense to me, don't draft a generational TE because you have Jarwin and Shultz.
Generational......Yeah not like I heard that about other first round tightend/wide receivers or running backs, or quarterbacks or defensive ends.....only 50% of first round selections end up busts in the NFL trash heap..

It makes sense when you have so many offensive weapons.

Pitts will not be the #1, #2, or #3 option on 95% of the plays called.

A generational talent that will be under utilized doesn't make sense.

A defensive player that will play every down and be a force on defense that makes the team better, that makes sense.

Plenty of quality CB's in the second round the same round they got Diggs.

If Pitts is there at #10 you have to take him.
There is no chance in HEK they take a TE. You are kidding right? Seriously? You are going to take a TE over a defensive player when you have three really good WR’s and a TE who broke out of his shell and is ready to contribute? What do you gain? What is the net result? In 2019-20 We didn’t lose because of our TE play.

Imagine if the Giants or Eagles take him. Surtain can't cover Pitts because Pitts is a better player.

Actually the 50% is not correct.

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2015...e-statistics-tell-us-about-the-draft-by-round

Tight ends are rarely drafted in the first round. Only nine tight ends were drafted in the first round in the last decade. Of those nine, six have had success and none have had the talent of Pitts.

Ill take the elite talent if I can get it.
Dallas has invested a ton of capital along the offense, it's time to invest early and often in the defense....I'd have no problem selecting Pitts if Dallas had even a decent defense, but it's completely trash and what was signed in free agency are nothing but fillers...Dallas offense requires a TE that can block, Pitts isn't that, he's a slot tweener TE/more WR who would line up in Lamb spot in this offense....late third round or after you can get a good TE in this draft.

Good question. Do you know, or are you trying to make a point?
I was asking legitimately. I want to know how Pitts' blocking skills are, if he's going to play TE.

Sorry, not his strongest suit:

if you place an increased emphasis on blocking at the tight end position, you may desire more from the Florida star. Pitts is somewhat inconsistent in that area and doesn’t have the strength or density to be a force. But as a receiver, which is the primary function of tight ends in the modern NFL, Pitts has elite size, athleticism, and the over-arching versatility to be a matchup nightmare anywhere from the line of scrimmage to the boundary.
