They sure are telegraphing that they need Corners. Diggs, Brown, and Lewis all missed time last season.

Hater is used to describe anyone with an opposing view.

Hating how one's team is run is not hating on the team.

Not being a fan of Prescott, Elliott, Booger or anyone else associated with the team doesn't make anyone a hater.

Right. But Zoners who constantly hijack every thread to express their “dislike” for Dak, Zeke, DLaw etc is at its core the very definition of a hater.

Honestly, probably not. When has this bargain bin sort of shopping where we get players coming off of injuries, etc., ever worked for us? I just hope Quinn can work miracles.

What about comp picks? Other than Jones’ comp pick they have largely been in the later rounds and those guys are typically long shots anyway. A couple have turned into nice players but not many.

The Cowboys are not very good at FA. It’s bizarre people actually argue otherwise.
One each in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. ANY draft pick is extremely valuable. I can’t believe you would say something so ridiculous. Dak was a comp pick. We all know you think he sucks and most of us know you’re wrong.

I'm underwhelmed.
Have we improved? Maybe a bit, but our defense was horrible last year, so a little isn't going to cut it.

Honestly, I am confused. I thought it was agreed that with a little luck in the health department, our offense is going to be elite, but the window might be small, so let's try to improve the defense quickly. I guess not.

At the beginning of the FA, I thought we needed, at very least, a starting outside CB, a FS, a NG, and LBs.
A month into free agency?
-We still need a starting outside CB - this is still a HUGE hole. - I hate, hate, hate that we are going to rely on a rookie to start at one of our outside CBs.
-Still need a FS - I like Kazee, but he is still not fully healed from a serious injury, and even though he may be a slight upgrade over Woods, if healthy, he is not at all a big upgrade and he is on a -1-year deal, so FS is still a HUGE need.
-Still need a NG - Woods is meeehhh, gets hurt too much, and is also on a 1-year deal - which he still has not signed.
-Still need LBs. Sure, Neal is here - and I like it, but he is also coming off an injury and he playing LB is more of an experiment than a for sure thing.

I hate our shotgun approach. Just sign a bunch of bargains and hope some work out for a year. Let's use a rifle. Let's fully SOLVE two positions for several years instead of kinda, sorta, maybe try to solve a bunch.

I know, I know we still have the draft, but right now we NEED a CB, a FS, a NG, and LBs. There is no way we get quality picks for all of those positions.

New DC has his work cut for him - devise a system and scheme to blend so-so FAs, once promising core (Lawrence Gregory, Smith, LVE, Lewis, Brown), developing youngsters (Hill, Gallimore, Gifford, Bernard, Riggs, RR II) and the soon-to-be selected draftees and UDFAs into a good unit.

Question, why is the word "hater" used so much around here to describe people with different opinions?

I believe the defense will still be bad and we will still be a bad football team overall. Does it make me a "hater" if I do not believe we are the Super Bowl bound because we signed a a few C level players coming off injuries. Are we pinning all our hopes on some rookies coming from the draft?
Nailed it!

The draft hasn't occurred yet. Lets see what we do in the draft before we write off the season. LOL.

Even after the draft is over, there will be significant player movement. Guys who you would think will make a team will be replaced by draft picks. There will be some real bargains on the back end of free agency after the draft. Guys will be cut who will be significant contributors for another team. Leroi Glover was one of those players IIRC.

We can trade a 2022 pick after the draft for a player we want if we choose to go that route. Let's not panic just yet.

Yes. Haters can hate, but it’s not just that it’s we are healthy. Not to mention the upgrade of Quinn over Nolan.

Urban, Watkins will help the interior depth. Basham will help keep Gregory fresh.

Ty is an upgrade over Knight and Steele.

Neal and Kazee help the secondary out. Neal helps fill a need as the 3rd linebacker as well. We get rid of Darian Thompson and Xavier Woods from starting.

We have a bounty of draft picks. It’s not fancy and we could still use a little outside help (Wright, Hayward). But I feel with our offense, the defense can just be average we will make the playoffs
The haters just have to drink the kool aid and then they will believe that the Cowboys have improved enough to go to the Superbowl.

we suck I got in on good authority by the experts in zone. The fact is we don't know and every year is different. if your a glass half full guy you are optimistic because if nothing else you are returning healthy players. Your defense played better the last part of the season and depending on draft I believe you have an improved roster. Nolan's gone. If you're a glass half empty guy we didn't address the needs as well as we could have during FA and the roster don't look any better. We got jags for replacements. (bargain bin)the cowboys are going to draft Pitts and jerry sucks.

I think we win the division with 6 losses
You don't have to be an expert all you have to do is look at the history for the last 25 years. The Cowboys may win the worst division in the NFL, but they aren't going far in the playoffs.

Basham better than Armstrong but less than Aldon - draft will determine if the position is improved
Urban better than Crawford but 1-tech is still a gaping wound - draft will determine if the position is improved
Kazee better than Thompson and Woods but still need another - draft will determine if the position is improved
Watkins is likely a nothing burger - draft will determine if the position is improved
Neal at LB to replace 3lb's - draft will determine if the position is improved
Nshecke a downgrade from Erving but an upgrade over Steele - draft will determine if the position is improved

Cowboys had the type of offseason you'd expect for a team who just won a few Super Bowls....

They better hope for their sake that the rookies they've drafted the past 2 years are ready to contribute now.

They are better by the simple addition of Dak, Tyron, and La’el.

That’s the biggest “additions” by any team this offseason.

They are betting that those + depth signings + draft will be enough.

We will see.
