Jok - Ss

Lance Zierlein calls Notre Dame LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah "An upgraded version of Jabrill Peppers. He is faster. He is more explosive. He is bigger... He has a chance to be the best defensive player to come out of this draft."

An expert said it so most of you can relax now lol

Welcome to my world.

The athleticism and speed that he would add to the Cowboys linebackers (and defense overall) would be significant. He would allow you to do so many different things that, IMO, his value is high.

I think people who are saying that he’s too small for LB are viewing the position through a 1990’s lens and not taking into consideration how LB’s are used today.

Good post.

Yep..

Which was why early on LVE was such an incredible player for us because he could play like a traditional and modern day linebacker.

He was covering guys downfield that he had no business guarding and doing it well

We desperately need that guy to return.

Is Isaiah Simmons that much better than JOK? Simmons got the hype and a Top 10 pick of ARI why not JOK?

I think JOK is a weapon, that can be used to cover these new day TEs, RBs and some slot WRs...plus chase sideline to sideline in the run game. SS or WLB it doesn't matter. I get Woodson vibes from JOK in terms of versatility.

Simmons is prototypical size at 6’4 240lbs with 4.3 speed and 33 1/2 inch arms.

I am not on the Parsons as a top 10 pick train. I see lots of risk. Too much for me to consider with a premium pick. Actually I'm not sure where i would consider taking him, that's how much he scares me.

If you could end up with JOK, a CB (like Newsome for example) and Grant \Moehrig as your top 3 picks I would say you did very well. top that off w Alim McNeil or similar IL and I wouldn't really care what happened after that.
Before the season started Parsons was the best defensive player in college football. He decides to sit out the season and he drops to the teens. Then draft nicks say he has bust potential and rate Bolton a slow/short linebacker over him. Parsons has the potential to be the best linebacker in the NFL. I would sleep well if the Cowboys draft him at 10.

Parsons was and remains the top defensive prospect in the draft IMO. I think he's the only blue chip defensive prospect in the draft.

If the off the field stuff checks out, drafting him at 10 is a home run IMO.

I really like JOK as a SS / nickel LBr hybrid player but he is not the same caliber as Parsons.

I think the comparisons to Jaylon has killed him on this board and when it comes to Cowboys fans draft nicks. The guy is a monster.

He’s Jaylon pre injury + instincts. That should get fans really, really excited. Jaylon without injury and with + instincts is an all pro.

JOK would be an awesome fit at SS here, and with Dan Quinn being open to moving Keanu Neal to Will (rather than "my old roster said SS, he's a SS!"), maybe he would be open to moving the very similar JOK around as well.

That’s what gets me excited about him. I don’t think the old Cowboys regime would’ve been smart enough to use him right.

If Quinn is creative enough to play Neal at SS and drop him down to nickel/dime LBr he’d probably do it with JOK.

And JOK is actually a freak athlete. Neal was a forced pick by Quinn to replicate Chancellor in Atlanta imo. We currently dont have anyone that can guard tight ends on the roster........unless people believe in Reggie Robinson lol

It didn’t help that Bucky Brooks said he had character concerns like Jaylon. Meaning that he might be more concerned with developing his brand then actually playing football. I like Bucky but that shot was uncalled for.

That's fair...but he's the only one I've heard it from. I haven't heard anything from anyone else so don't think it's a big deal.

NFL.com has Parsons ranked 6th JOK 7th. They also have Devonta Smith 3rd and Chase 4th. They have Barmore at 12, and Surtain is a at 5.

Broaddus said he heard similar things. It is the lying season in the NFL. It also does not help that he did not play last season. I don’t blame any of these guys for not playing last season but you know scouts will hold it against Parsons. This draft is gonna be wild. Guys will be rising up and dropping off the boards and the media will be clueless about it.

Ya I just like the fact we might have some creativity on defense.

Neal has been a stud when healthy. Not the same athlete, but ++ instincts.
